Amazon.com Launches Emergency Preparedness Store

Seattle, Amazon.com opened its new emergency preparedness store within its existing tools and hardware store, which offers a collection of over 800,000 tools and accessories. With the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicting a very active 2006 hurricane season, Amazon.com's new emergency preparedness store hopes to boost sales by offering a single shopping destination for tools, communication devices, first aid supplies, safety equipment and more to coincide with the first day of hurricane season.
