Amazon sues New York over new tax laws
NEW YORK According to reports, Amazon has filed a complaint in the New York Supreme Court on April 25, claiming that it had been unfairly singled out in a new law that considers its payment of unaffiliated Web site operators around the country for advertising on its site as solicitation of business in the state of New York.
Amazon denies this claim and says it does not have a strong physical presence in New York. The company also said that the advertisers are not authorized to act as agents of Amazon.
