Newegg introduces free customer membership program
The complimentary Newegg+ offering provides a number of benefits to the online consumer electronics retailer’s customers.
According to Newegg, it evaluated customers’ needs and expectations to align benefits before creating its new Newegg+ membership program. To join Newegg+, customers need to initially create or sign in to their complimentary Newegg account on the e-tailer’s site, and then choose to enroll in Newegg+. No costs are involved in any part of the process.
Benefits that are immediately available to members via the Newegg website and app once they join include:
- Free shipping: More than one million products with the Newegg+ badge include free domestic shipping.
- Exclusive offers: Early access to select products and deals before non-members.
- Member-only deals: Select member-only deals on top of regular promotions.
- Product warranty discounts: Bonus discounts on product warranty purchases exclusively for members.
- Enhanced returns: Advanced processing on qualifying returns.
- Dedicated customer service: Priority assistance provided through a dedicated Newegg+ customer service line.
Newegg has been expanding the extra services it offers customers. For example, in March 2024, the e-tailer began providing an optional paid add-on to protect eligible purchases in partnership with Likewize.
In addition, refurbished products sold by Newegg through its Newegg Refreshed program offer customers the opportunity to buy multiple years of protection with a Likewize protection plan. And in November 2023, the company introduced Group Buy, a locked daily deal that requires a minimum number of customers to show interest to unlock it.
"Joining most retail membership clubs requires a large financial commitment that really detracts from the excitement of joining the program and the potential savings," said Kidd Liu, senior director of business systems development for Newegg. "Newegg+ is designed to help customers shop Newegg easier from day one with outstanding free benefits. Since Newegg+ is free and the positives are immeasurable, every customer should be compelled to join."
In addition, a Newegg+ Launch Sale is running on the Newegg site now for members through Sunday, April 28, 2024.
