Michaels teams with Jennifer Love Hewitt for holiday gift guide

Jennifer Love Hewitt is curating a holiday gift guide for Michaels.

The Michaels Companies is partnering with a star of TV and film to promote holiday items from its third-party handmade goods marketplace.

The specialty arts & crafts retailer has debuted an exclusive holiday gift guide featuring handmade products from its MakerPlace by Michaels online marketplace curated by Hollywood actress Jennifer Love Hewitt.

The MakerPlace x Jennifer Love Hewitt Handmade Holiday Gift Guide offers an assortment of handcrafted gifts from U.S.-based designers and artisans, including home décor, custom jewelry and personalized presents.

"I’ve always felt that the most meaningful gifts are the ones with a personal touch, and there’s nothing more heartfelt than something handmade," said Jennifer Love Hewitt. "Partnering with MakerPlace by Michaels is a way to share unique, beautiful gifts and support the small businesses and artisans who pour their passion into every piece. In addition, all items sold on MakerPlace will be discounted 30% off as part of a special Small Business Saturday promotion from Thursday, Nov. 28 through Tuesday, Dec. 3. The MakerPlace x Jennifer Love Hewitt Handmade Holiday Gift Guide is shoppable on the dedicated MakerPlace e-commerce site.

In November 2023, Michaels formally introduced Makerplace by Michaels and has also been piloting an in-store version in select locations.

The rollout of MakerPlace followed Michaels' February 2023 introduction of a third-party digital marketplace featuring more than 750,000 curated products from selected sellers. By offering a marketplace for buying and selling handmade goods,  is competing with handmade e-commerce pioneer Etsy, as well as similar platforms operated by retailers including Amazon and 1-800-Flowers.com
