  • Robert Graham to open store at Mohegan Sun resort

    New York – Robert Graham has signed a new lease agreement to open a branded retail store featuring the full Robert Graham collection in The Shops at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. The store will carry the complete range of Robert Graham apparel products.

  • Euclid offers free offline customer analytics

    SAN FRANCISCO – Brick-and-mortar customer analytics provider Euclid is introducing Euclid Express, a free analytics solution that provides retailers with insights into customer behavior and store performance. Using existing Wi-Fi, Euclid allows retailers to assess the offline impact of marketing activities, identify trends in store performance, and improve the overall shopping experience.

  • Supervalu to rebrand retail banners

    Supervalu reported net earnings of $31 million during the third quarter of fiscal 2014, almost double the net earnings of $16 million reported in the same quarter of the prior fiscal year. This dramatic increase came even as net sales slipped 1% to $4.1 billion from $4.5 billion.

  • Design Within Reach selects NetSuite

    Stamford, Conn. -- Design Within Reach, Inc., a multi-channel retailer of modern furniture, selected NetSuite as its core business management platform to support the company's growth. Design Within Reach plans to begin by leveraging NetSuite to power its core financials/ERP, inventory management, point-of-sale and order management processes.

  • Giant Eagle, McMurray, Pa.

    Giant Eagle's new Market District Express prototype combines fresh, chef-created meals with traditional and specialty groceries in a 15,500-sq.-ft. supermarket/convenience store hybrid format. The store also includes a restaurant and pharmacy with drive-through access.

    Giant Eagle views this latest development as a test. According to various reports, however, plans are already on the drawing board to build two additional Market District Express locations in Ohio, one in the Columbus market and the other in the Cleveland area.

    The Container Store posted a better than expected profit performance during its first quarter as a public company but offered a full year outlook analysts found underwhelming.

    Hayward, Calif. – Posiflex is announcing an intelligent foldable base for its XT series of 15-inch touchscreen terminals, now available for purchase, at the National Retail Federation Conference and Exposition 2014. The sleek new fold-flat design optimizes height and viewing angles to satisfy a variety of cashier and user viewing positions. This foldable form results in a 40% reduction in the package size and weight to reduce deployment shipping costs.  

  • OSHA proposes $236K in safety fines for Forever 21

    New York -- The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited fashion retail chain Forever 21 for exposing employees to safety hazards at its stores in Paramus, N.J., and Manhattan. OSHA inspected both stores in July after receiving complaints alleging violations and proposed $236,500 in penalties.
