  • Accenture completes Javelin purchase

    London - Accenture has completed its acquisition of Javelin Group, a retail strategy consulting and digital transformation services provider. The acquisition was first announced on May 18, 2015.

    Javelin Group will be a distinct business unit within Accenture Strategy. Accenture will leverage Javelin’s specialist retail strategy and digital capabilities to help retailers accelerate digital transformation.

  • Bigger is better for this furniture retailer

    Warren, Mich. -- At least one retailer is bucking the current smaller store trend by opening its biggest location to date.

    Art Van Furniture will open a two-story, 112,000-sq.-ft. store showroom in Downers Grove, Ill., on July 30. It will not only be the largest Art Van Furniture store among the company's 90 Midwest locations, but also and the largest furniture store in Chicagoland.

  • NCR: Restaurants say technology impacts revenue

    Duluth, Ga. - A majority of restaurant owners and managers believe that technology has a direct impact on increased revenue.

    According to the 2015 NCR Restaurant Technology Pulse, 67% of respondents say technology helps drive revenue growth and 35% of restaurants are more dependent on tech tools compared to a year ago.

  • Target vet joining Rite Aid’s executive ranks

    Camp Hill, Pa. -- A veteran Target executive is joining Rite Aid.

    The drugstore chain on Monday announced that Bryan Everett is joining Rite Aid as executive VP store operations, effective Aug. 3. He will be responsible for all operations at the company’s nearly 4,600 chainwide stores and will report to Rite Aid president and COO Ken Martindale.

E-commerce websites must offer functionality and overall shopping experience on par with the latest online consumer expectations. Canadian specialty outdoor retailer Wholesale Sports Outdoor Outfitters, which operates 13 stores in western Canada as well as a website, has had to face this issue.

  • Bass Pro set to open 10th Florida store

    Bass Pro Shops will soon be fishing for new customers in Florida, as the retailer has set a date for its opening in the Tampa Bay area.

    According  to WFLA in Tampa, the retailer says it will open its doors at 10501 Palm River Rd. in Tampa on July 29.

    Sears's new “Connected Solutions” flagship is located at The Shops at Tanforan, a shopping center in San Bruno, California. The 4,000-sq.-ft. store is designed to simplify the way people shop for their connected home.
