  • PetSmart announces management succession; new CEO to take reins in June

    Phoenix -- PetSmart on Tuesday announced its planned management succession plan. The company said that following its annual shareholders meeting on June 14, 2013, current president and COO David K. Lenhardt will be promoted to CEO and simultaneously join the board of directors. At that time, current chairman and CEO Bob Moran will vacate the CEO's chair and become executive chairman.

  • Price Chopper names VP technical services

    Schenectady, N.Y. -- Price Chopper Supermarkets/Golub Corp. announced that Sam Wagar has been promoted to the position of VP technical services, reporting directly to R. Gregory Zeh, Jr., VP Information Systems, CIO.

    In his new position, Sam will be responsible for assessing, maintaining and recommending technology products and services to support the delivery of enterprise-wide technical services. He will oversee the corporate help desk, technical maintenance, technical operations, technical services and information integration.

  • Demandware fits Ecco shoes e-commerce needs

    The Ecco shoe brand has engaged the services of Demandware to power its new U.S. e-commerce and mobile commerce site. The company also plans to use Demandware’s cloud platform to quickly and efficiently expand internationally, beginning with Canada.

    Ecco products are sold online and in 4,000 branded locations in more than 90 countries. 

  • Pilgrim Furniture City expands partnership with TD Retail Card Services

    Mahwah, N.J. -- Connecticut retailer Pilgrim Furniture City has expanded its relationship with TD Retail Card Services, moving from the company’s Renovate Card program to a branded private label card created specifically for Pilgrim customers.

  • Kohl's to deploy integrated solutions from Oracle Retail

    Redwood Shores, Calif. -- Kohl’s Department Stores has selected Oracle Retail Merchandising, Planning and Supply Chain solutions to seamlessly integrate core retail operations across the company’s 1,146 stores nationwide. The solutions will provide Kohl’s with an integrated, scalable retail suite of applications to streamline merchandising and planning while enabling its multi-channel growth strategy.

  • Tuesday Morning reports 2Q loss, names new COO

    DALLAS —Tuesday Morning reported that for the second quarter, the company's net sales increased 4.5% to $285.3 million, from $273.1 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2012.

    The company reportd that its net loss for the quarter was $21.5 million, or 51 cents per share.  The company reported net income of $15.9 million or 37 cents per share in the second quarter of fiscal 2012. 

  • Walmart announces $450 million expansion in Canada

    New York -- Walmart on Tuesday updated its plans for its Canadian division, saying that it plans to complete at least 37 supercenter projects in the country during the company’s next fiscal year (February 1, 2013 to January 31, 2014). The announcement comes a couple of months before Target Corp.’s spring launch of its stores in Canada. 

  • Hammacher Schlemmer NYC store to get makeover

    New York -- Hammacher Schlemmer iconic midtown Manhattan store will undergo an extensive floor-to-ceiling renovation. It will reopen May 16.

    The renovation of Hammacher Schlemmer's landmark store will include new lighting, more modern display cases, and a new floor consisting of solid stone and hardwoods. The new store layout will provide more square footage for customers to peruse the latest gadgets and problem-solving products.
