  • Cabela’s to deploy SAP point-of-sale application

    Sidney, Neb. -- SAP America Inc., a subsidiary of SAP AG, announced that Cabela’s Inc. has selected the SAP point-of-sale application to support its retail expansion and enhance its customer experience.

    The hunting, fishing and outdoor gear retailer will leverage out-of-the-box functionality inherent in SAP POS to provide increased customer service, as well as system and sales associate efficiency, SAP said.

  • Wal-Mart first-ever retailer to launch online ‘pay with cash’ option

    Bentonville, Ark. -- Walmart said Thursday it has launched a “Pay with Cash” service that offers cash payment options for online orders at Walmart.com in the United States.

    Walmart is the first major retailer to offer online purchases without the need for banking services or a credit, debit or prepaid card.

  • NRF: FTC should move cautiously on mobile payments

    Washington, D.C. -- The National Retail Federation on Thursday urged the Federal Trade Commission to move cautiously in establishing regulations for mobile payments, and said any rules that are adopted should parallel those for the underlying form of payment and not be specific to the technology.

  • Vantiv launches mobile check deposit after successful pilot with Town & Country Bank

    Cincinnati -- Payment processing service-provider Vantiv said Wednesday that it has launched its Mobile Check Deposit product that enables consumers and small business owners to use their smartphone to take a picture of a check and deposit into their account.

    The service, which had been in pilot with Town & Country Bank in Salem, Mo., is now available in the United States and already more than 40 financial institutions have signed up for the service.

  • CBX appoints creative director in retail environments

    New York -- CBX announced the appointment of Marco Marcellini as a creative director in the retail environments group.

    Marco, a native of Florence, Italy, brings over 12 years of experience as an architect and interior designer working on a wide range of high-end projects including retail, educational, cultural, corporate interiors, hospitality, and residential. In this new position at CBX he will be specializing in translating identities and brand strategies into 3D environments.

  • H&M to enter Latin America in fall

    New York -- Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M) will enter Latin America this fall, opening a flagship in Centro Santa Fé, Mexico City.

    “We look very much forward to opening the first H&M flagship store in Mexico. It will be the perfect first step for H&M into this fashion conscious region,” said Karl-Johan Persson, CEO, H&M.
