  • Glimcher acquires University Park Village for $105 million

    Fort Worth, Texas -- Columbus, Ohio-based Glimcher Realty Trust announced Monday the acquisition of University Park Village, an open-air center located in Fort Worth, Texas.

    The 173,220-sq.-ft. center is 97% occupied, generates sales of more than $800/sq. ft., and is tenanted by Apple, Anthropologie, J. Crew, Lululemon Athletica and Madewell, among others.

    Glimcher purchased University Park Village for $105 million.

    Online prices are now part of Target’s "low price promise" following an adjustment to the three year old price matching program.

  • Survey: Majority of consumer interested in redeeming loyalty points

    Richmond, Va. -- Survey results released Tuesday by Affinion Loyalty Group found that 89% of consumers are interested in redeeming points at point-of-sale.

    The survey also found that the respondents identified cash and retail store gift cards as their two favorite redemption items.

  • Cellairis opens first in-line store location

    Atlanta -- Wireless accessory retailer Cellairis said Tuesday it has opened its first in-line store at North Point Mall in Alpharetta, Ga.

    Operating over 700 kiosks in malls across the country, the company is launching this new model in order to provide consumers with a more robust retail experience, it said.

    The opening is the first in a company-wide initiative to implement a new store design, which features multimedia displays.

     

  • Outdoors specialty retailer to improve omni-channel strategy

    ROSEVILLE, Calif. — Outdoors specialty retailer Cabela’s has entered into a multi-year agreement with Revionics, a leading provider of end-to-end merchandise optimization solutions.

    Cabela’s, which operates 40 large format stores and describes itself as the world's largest direct marketer of hunting, fishing, camping and related outdoor merchandise, will look to Revionics to improve its life cycle price optimization solutions.

    Austin, Texas -- After a successful pilot during the 2012 holiday season, Starmount announced Tuesday that Perry Ellis International complete a chainwide rollout of Starmount mobile selling solutions in the first quarter.

  • Whole Foods Market names information chief

    Austin, Texas -- Whole Foods Market announced Tuesday the hiring of Jason J. Buechel as global VP and chief information officer, effective immediately.

    Buechel will report to co-CEO Walter Robb and CFO Glenda Flanagan.
     
    Buechel previously was a senior executive and managing director, retail operations, for Accenture.
     

  • Target unveils year-round price match of online retailers

    Minneapolis -- Target Corp. said Tuesday it plans to price-match top online retailers year-round, including Amazon.com, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com and Toysrus.com (including Babiesrus.com).

    Target stores will also price-match items found on Target.com, the company said.
