  • Mobile commerce gaining bigger share of retail landscape

    RESTON, Va. — In terms of growth, clicks continued to outpace bricks in 2012 — and how!

    That was the key takeaway from comScore’s “2013 U.S. Digital Future in Focus” report: Despite the backdrop of continued economic uncertainty, 2012 was a strong year for retail e-commerce. Throughout the year, growth rates versus the prior year remained in the mid-teens to outpace growth at brick-and-mortar retail by a factor of approximately four times.

  • PGA Tour Superstore to open in Irvine, Calif.

    Roswell, Ga. -- PGA Tour Superstore will open its second store on the West Coast, a 50,000-sq.ft, location in Irvine, Calif., later this year.

    "We are excited to be expanding into Southern California, which encompasses one of the nation's most renowned golf areas in the country," said PGA Tour Superstore president and CEO Dick Sullivan.

    With the addition of this store, the number of PGA Tour Superstores will increase nationwide to 17.

  • Supply chain event has omni-channel emphasis

    Thought leaders from the supply chain world are scheduled to participate in a forward-looking event scheduled for April 11 in Northwest Arkansas.

    The event is organized by the Supply Chain Management Research Center at the University of Arkansas and this year’s theme is, "Supply chains 2020: collaborating to win in an omni-channel world."

  • Menchie's launches mobile app

    Encino, Calif. -- Yogurt chain Menchie’s said Friday it has launched a new mobile app, Yumm Finder, for iPhones, featuring location finder capabilities and featured promotions.

    Menchie's partnered with RAZUR, based in Atlanta, to develop and release the app.

     

  • Belk names former Family Dollar exec to new position of VP omni-channel

    Charlotte, N.C. -- Belk has named Dorlisa Flur to the newly created position of EVP omni-channel, reporting to John Belk, president and chief operating officer.

    Flur joins Belk after eight years at Family Dollar Stores, most recently as vice chair, strategy and chief administrative officer. Prior roles included chief merchandising officer and the EVP strategy and marketing. Prior to Family Dollar Stores, Flur spent her professional career at management consulting firm McKinsey and Company.
