  • Tractor Supply Q4 comp up 13.1%

    Brentwood, Tenn. -- Tractor Supply Co. reported that net sales for the fourth quarter increased 19.7% to $1.03 billion from $862.5 million in the prior year's fourth quarter. Same-store sales increased 13.1%, compared with a 0.7% increase in the prior-year period. 

    Net income for the quarter was $50.2 million, or 67 cents per diluted share, compared with $37.3 million, or 51 cents per diluted share, in the prior year's fourth quarter. 

  • Rubbermaid reports strong performance in 2010

    Atlanta-based Newell Rubbermaid used the term "growth trifecta" to describe its 2010 performance -- strong sales, strong margins and strong earnings.

    The company reported fourth quarter net income of $75.7 million, up 24.9% from $60.6 million reported for the same period last year.

    Sales for the quarter ended Dec. 31 were $1.46 billion, up 3.4% from $1.42 billion reported for the same period in 2009. 

    For the full year, the company reported net income of $292.8, up % from $285.5 reported in 2009.

  • Davaco rolls out menu updates for restaurants

    Dallas -- Davaco said Tuesday it is preparing to roll out high-volume retrofits of interior and exterior restaurant menu boards in response to the FDA’s new nutrition/menu labeling program.

    The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 requires restaurants and similar retail food establishments with 20 or more locations to list calorie content information for standard menu items on restaurant menus and menu boards.

    New York City -- Mobile technology ranked as the most important priority for retail in 2011, according to a recent online poll by Retail U. The respondents were asked to base their results on their key takeaways from the National Retail Federation’s 100th Annual Convention & Expo, in New York City.

  • Sherwin-Williams sales up 18% for Q4

    Cleveland-based Sherwin-Williams reported fourth-quarter net income of $72.9 million, up 11.6% from $65.3 million reported for the same period last year.

    Sales for the quarter ended Dec. 31 were $1.89 billion, up 18.8% from $1.59 billion reported for the same period in 2009.

    For the full year, the company reported net income of $462.4 million, up 6.1% from $435.8 million for fiscal year 2009.

    Sales for 2010 totaled $7.77 billion, up 9.5% from $ 7.09 billion reported last year.
