  • Toshiba releases new TCxWave POS solution

    Research Triangle Park, N.C. - Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, is releasing the TCxWave Model A30. This new model brings the design of the original TCxWave model to a smaller frame, allowing retailers with less space for the docked machine access to the capabilities of the original solution.

    The TCxWave features a wide touch-screen interface, and is operated by the Intel Celeron Bay Trail quad core processor, supporting Windows 7, POSReady 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Embedded Industry 8.1.

    The product will be available starting in July.

  • U.K.’s Orlebar Brown deploys NetSuite OneWorld; will use in U.S. expansion

    London – U.K. swimwear and resort retailer Orlebar Brown has deployed NetSuite OneWorld to support its growth and continued global expansion. The company is leveraging NetSuite OneWorld's capabilities for financial consolidation, tax compliance support, and multi-currency and multi-language support point-of-sale (POS), for its Notting Hill store in London, as well as inventory management, order management and warehouse management to run its core mission-critical business processes.

    New York – Kate Spade & Company earned net income of $46 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2014. This marked a return to profitability after a net loss of $52 million in the prior year period.

  • Kohl's, Toshiba partner with Plug and Play in retail accelerator program

    New York -- Kohl’s Department Stores and Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions have teamed up with Plug and Play to participate in Plug and Play Retail, an accelerator program that is focused on technologies and teams innovating in the retail industry. (Based in Sunnyvale, California, Plug and Play is a business accelerator that specializes in growing tech startups.)

  • Compare Metrics secures $3.8 million funding

    Austin, Texas - Compare Metrics, a provider of adaptive commerce navigation and discovery tools, has secured $3.8 million in follow-on financing. The financing is led by Austin Ventures with additional funding by existing investors Julie Allegro of Allegro Venture Partners, Bob Greene of Contour Ventures, Capital Factory, Mike Maples Jr. of Floodgate, Brett Hurt of Hurt Family Investments and independent investors Ralph Mack and Adam Ross.
