  • Report: EBay resets passwords; will sell auto services

    San Jose, Calif. – EBay has had success with the password reset it launched in May 2014, following the public revelation of a February 2014 security breach that may have exposed user information. According to Bloomberg, more than half of EBay’s existing 149 million customers have returned since the rest, and the company has also experienced 10-15% growth in new customers since that time.

  • Report: RadioShack could be delisted

    New York -- RadioShack has been notified by the New York Stock Exchange that it failed to satisfy listing standards and could be delisted after its average stock price stayed below $1 for 30 days, according to a document the company filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Dallas Business Journal reported.

    RadioShack shares will continue to trade as usual on the NYSE. Under the exchange rules the troubled retailer has six months from the date of notification to regain compliance, or get its shares back above $1.

  • Chinese luxury e-commerce platform raises $100 million

    Beijing -- Secoo.com, a Chinese luxury and high-end fashion e-commerce company, recently completed a new round of financing that has raised around $100 million. The event represents the largest amount of financing raised in one round across the Chinese luxury and high-end fashion e-commerce sector to date.

  • Amazon loss grows in Q2 even as sales rise 23%

    Seattle – Amazon.com reported a second quarter net loss of $126 million, compared to a net loss of $7 million in the same period last year, as it continues to spend heavily on investments. The loss was nearly double what Wall Street higher expected. Operating expenses rose 24% to $19.36 billion.

    Net sales increased 23% to $19.34 billion in the second quarter, compared with $15.70 billion in second quarter 2013. Net sales met Wall Street expectations. A favorable change in foreign exchange rates boosted revenues.

  • Williams-Sonoma shuffles leadership

    San Francisco – Williams-Sonoma Inc. has shuffled the positions of several top executives. Chief strategy and supply chain officer Dean Miller has been named COO, and chief marketing officer Pat Connolly will assume the position of chief strategy and business development officer.

  • More supermarkets certified by Green Building Initiative

    Portland, Oregon -- The Green Building Initiative announced a wave of Green Globes certifications for new supermarkets across the nation. The properties include New Seasons Markets in Oregon, and Whole Foods Market, Price Chopper, Aldi’s, Harris Teeter, Wegmans, and Publix stores across the country.
