    NEW YORK — Yomari and Predictix will join forces to deliver merchandising and analytics solutions to large and midsize retailers.

    Yomari is a leading independent professional services company focused exclusively on analytics, business intelligence and data warehousing for the consumer value chain. Its customers include Dressbarn, Gander Mountain, Petco, REI and Williams-Sonoma.

  • Hibbett Sports selects QuantiSense to improve local assortments

    Atlanta -- Retail analytics firm QuantiSense announced Monday that Hibbett Sports has selected the QuantiSense Decision Orchestration Platform for its enterprise business intelligence solution.

    Hibbett Sports needed a single foundation for enterprise business intelligence that could satisfy current merchandising and store operations requirements and expand to other departments over time.
     

  • Cloud-solutions developer gets new CEO

    ATLANTA — Cloud-solutions developer Predictix has named John Simon as its new CEO.

    Simon will be charged with helping accelerate growth as Predictix continues developing and delivering solutions to retail companies. The move comes on the heels of the partnership announced between Predictix and analytics-based consumer chain solutions developer Yomari.

  • Survey: Shoppers want improved mobile grocery shopping

    New York -- Aldata, part of Symphony EYC, announced Monday its second U.S. holiday shopping survey revealed that U.S. shoppers want to use their mobile phones to make shopping easier, more personalized, and to have more control over inventory, but that purchasing groceries with a mobile is still in its infancy.

    Conducted by Vision Critical on behalf of Symphony EYC, the survey found that 54% of shoppers said that no lines and no waiting were the greatest benefits to shopping online for groceries.

  • Global tech startup personalizes shopping experience

    NEW YORK — Global technology startup Synqera has launched Simplate, an in-store point-of-sale terminal that provides real-time business-to-consumer media communications, at the National Retail Federation’s 102nd Annual Convention & EXPO.

    Synqera describes Simplate as one of the first interactive POS terminals that uses big data, such as customer preferences, behavior, demographics and purchasing information, to provide personalized media communications for on-the-spot marketing.

  • Loehmann's selects MID Retail's planning and allocation software

    New York -- MID Retail Inc. announced Monday that discount fashion retailer Loehmann’s has selected its Advanced Merchandise Planning and Advanced Allocation software to forecast store-level demand, accurately generate buying plans, and intelligently manage the flow of merchandise to retail stores.

  • Consumer confidence waned last week

    Washington, D.C. -- The Bloomberg Consumer Comfort Index fell to minus 34.4 in the seven days ended Jan. 6 from minus 31.8 the prior period, the biggest one-week drop since August. Jobless claims increased by 4,000 to 371,000 in the week ended Jan. 5, according to Labor Department figures.

  • Report: December saw slowest spending growth in three years

    Atlanta -- Consumer spending reached a three-year low during the month of December, according to a report released Thursday by First Data Corp.

    First Data’s SpendTrend tracks same-store consumer spending by credit, signature debit, PIN debit, EBT, closed-loop prepaid cards and checks at U.S. merchant locations.
