Redmond, Wash. – Tesco has chosen Microsoft Office 365 for its companywide collaboration and social platform. The U.K.-based retailer is committed to deploying Office 365 to its employees working at the company's headquarters, in the field and in stores, across all its locations in Europe and Asia.

Austin, Texas -- Whole Foods Market announced Tuesday the hiring of Jason J. Buechel as global VP and chief information officer, effective immediately.

Buechel will report to co-CEO Walter Robb and CFO Glenda Flanagan.
 
Buechel previously was a senior executive and managing director, retail operations, for Accenture.
 

Norwalk, Conn. -- WhenToManage announced that its suite of retail operations solutions, including point-of-sale intelligence, labor scheduling and inventory management tools, is now being deployed by Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, an international franchiser, confectionery manufacturer and retail operator.

Redwood Shores, Calif. -- American Apparel, which launched a new Oracle e-commerce platform in the fall, has continued to deliver an increase in e-commerce sales, with a more than 38% increase over the same period last year. December 2012 sales increased more than 59% over December 2011, with December coming in as the highest sales month in the history of the company’s online business.

SALT LAKE CITY — Former KPMG technology consultant Bhargav Shah is Overstock.com’s new SVP of technology. Shah replaces Sam Peterson, who will remain with the company for a transition period.

Shah will spearhead development as well as the implementation of information technology initiatives within the organization. He will also influence business strategy through innovative use of technology.
