  • Honeywell completes EMS acquisition

    Morris Township, N.J. -- Honeywell announced that it has completed its acquisition of EMS Technologies, for approximately $491 million. EMS is a leading provider of connectivity solutions for mobile networking, rugged mobile computers and satellite communications.

  • eBay completes buyout of open source e-commerce platform

    SAN JOSE, Calif. — eBay announced that it has completed its previously announced acquisition of Magento Inc., the creators of Magento, a leading open source e-commerce platform. The deal follows eBay’s acquisition of a minority stake in the company in 2010. eBay now owns 100% of the outstanding shares of Magento. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

  • Google to acquire Motorola Mobility in $12.5 billion deal

    Mountain View, Calif. -- A Monday report by the Associated Press said that Google is acquiring cell phone maker Motorola Mobility Holdings for $12.5 billion in cash, a transaction that is Google’s biggest to date.

    Google’s Android operating system runs smartphones that compete with iPhones, BlackBerrys and Windows-based mobile devices. Motorola Mobility was separated from the rest of Motorola in January, and has re-emerged as a maker of Android-based smartphones.

  • Crabtree & Evelyn chooses PeopleAnswers for pre-employment selection

    Dallas -- PeopleAnswers and Crabtree & Evelyn announced on Thursday a software licensing agreement for the retailer to use the PeopleAnswers HR solution for pre-employment screening and selection for hourly employees and store managers in its 72 stores across the United States in preparation for the holiday season.

  • Dollar General selects Interface for cloud services

    St. Louis -- Dollar General has signed a multi-year contract with Interface to provide secure managed cloud services to the retailer’s 9,5000 plus stores that will improve operations, and increase the security of customer and employee data, while providing significant reductions in operating expenses.

    Under the agreement, Dollar General will use Interface’s managed cloud services for its entire retail store network.
