Supervalu announces executive change
Minneapolis -- Supervalu announced that Janel Haugarth, executive VP, president and COO of the company’s supply chain services organization has been named executive VP merchandising and logistics. Steve Jungmann, who had held the position of executive VP merchandising, will leave the company effective immediately.
Nadeau to open in Greenwich Village
New York City -- Robert K. Futterman & Associates said it has completed a 7,800-sq.-ft. retail lease with Nadeau at 57 East 11th St. in New York City’s Greenwich Village.

The furniture retailer will occupy a combined 4,300 sq. ft. on the ground floor and 3,500 sq. ft. in the basement and is scheduled to open in first quarter 2011. This will be the first New York City location for the brand.

Nadeau is headquartered in Santa Monica, Calif., and currently has 15 locations nationwide.

Stater Bros. honored for recycling efforts

San Bernardino, Calif. -- Stater Bros. has been recognized as a 2010 WRAP (Waste Reduction Awards Program) Winner by the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). Bentonville, Ark. - Wal-Mart Stores announced Monday that it is buying a controlling stake in South Africa's Massmart in an approximately $2 billion deal. The investment gives the discounter a substantial presence in South Africa and paves the way for further expansion across the continent. Wal-Mart International president and CEO Doug McMillon made clear his company is pursuing a regional strategy.
Tractor Supply to open new DC

Brentwood, Texas -- Tractor Supply Co., announced plans to open a regional distribution center in Franklin, Ky.

The new 840,000-sq.-ft. distribution center, expected to be in operation by the end of 2011, will serve stores in the mid-eastern United States.

Panera Bread to open at Market at Colonnade

Raleigh, N.C. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased restaurant space in Raleigh, N.C., at Market at Colonnade to Panera Bread.

Panera has leased 4,000 sq. ft. and is slated to open in spring 2011.

Market at Colonnade is a 57,511-sq.-ft. shopping center anchored by a 40,000-sq.-ft. Whole Foods Market.
