    Roswell, Ga. -- On the heels of announcing its PGA Tour Superstore opening in Schaumburg, Ill., the company announced that Downers Grove will be the site for the second PGA Tour Superstore in the Chicago area.

    PLANO, Texas and NEW YORK — JCPenney announced that it has partnered with fashion designer Nanette Lepore to bring her first teen-focused line to its stores. Inspired by her teenage daughter, the line "l'amour nanette lepore" will be available exclusively at JCPenney and will debut as its own distinct shop beginning February 2013.

  • Macy's: Martha Stewart, JCP deal not 'a good thing'

    NEW YORK — A New York state Supreme Court filing on Monday disclosed that Macy’s Inc. is suing Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. for breach of contract after Martha Stewart set up a new deal last December with JCPenney to sell products at its stores.

  • Bon-Ton names former Lord & Taylor chief as new president and CEO

    York, Pa. -- The Bon-Ton Stores said Tuesday it has appointed Brendan L. Hoffman as president and CEO, effective Feb. 7.

    Hoffman replaces Bud Bergren, who is a current member of the board of directors and who will transition to the role of the chairman.

  • Apple’s global sales per square foot average a whopping $4,709

    New York City -- Apple stores around the world are pulling in an annual average of $4,709 sales per square foot, CNN Money reported.

    While a handful of super-high-end luxury retailers with limited floor space in New York City and foreign capitols may do better, Apple’s numbers make it by far the most valuable chain in the United States. Apple’s closest chain competitor is Tiffany & Co., which garners an average of $2,974 per square foot, according to the report.


     

  • Sport Clips, Evita Salon to open at Hamilton Crossing Centre

    Carmel, Ind. -- Indianapolis-based Kite Realty Group said that two new tenants will open at Hamilton Crossing Centre, located in Carmel, Ind.

    Sport Clips has leased 1,293 sq. ft. and Evita Salon & Spa has leased 1,956 sq. ft.

    Hamilton Crossing has a total GLA of 39,072 sq. ft. on 12.64 acres.
     

  • CBL to renovate four major malls in 2012

    Chattanooga, Tenn. -- CBL & Associates Properties announced that in 2012 it will complete multimillion dollar renovations at four market-dominant CBL Malls, with projects scheduled for Cross Creek Mall in Fayetteville, N.C.; Post Oak Mall in College Station, Texas; Turtle Creek Mall in Hattiesburg, Miss.; and Mall del Norte in Laredo, Texas. 

    The renovations are expected to be completed by the end of 2012.

  • Collective Brands names head of Keds brand

    LEXINGTON, Mass. — Collective Brands Performance and Lifestyle Group has announced the appointment of Rick Blackshaw as president of the Keds brand. Blackshaw has extensive footwear experience with brands including Converse, Timberland, and the former division of Reebok, Avia, and most recently served as VP and general manager for the Chuck Taylor All Star Division of Converse Inc. He will start in his new role Jan. 24 and succeeds Kristin Kohler Burrows who recently departed the position to pursue career opportunities closer to her home in New York.
