  • Holiday hiring frenzy arrives at Macy's

    CINCINNATI — Macy's Inc. joined the ranks of other retailers that have already announced plans to boost store staff during the holiday season.

  • Frye Co. to unveil Boston flagship

    Boston -- Boot and leather goods manufacturer Frye Co. will open its second U.S. retail location – on Newbury St. in a historic building in Boston’s Back Bay. It joins Frye’s only retail store in the Soho area of New York City.

    The 11,000-sq.-ft., three-level flagship store is slated to open spring 2013. It will reflect a fresh vision of Frye’s heritage and commitment to craft, and house specially designed areas showcasing the brand’s product.

  • Chick-fil-A selects Envysion as video provider

    Louisville, Colo. -- Envysion, Inc., the leading Managed Video as a Service (MVaaS) provider, announced that Chick-fil-A has selected Envysion as a video provider. Chick-fil-A, a leading quick-service chicken restaurant with more than 1,600 locations in the United States, will use Envysion to improve operations, training and customer service.

  • Macy’s holiday hiring edges up from last year

    Cincinnati -- Macy’s Inc. said it plans to hire approximately 80,000 seasonal associates for its Macy's and Bloomingdale's stores, call centers, distribution centers and online fulfillment centers nationwide for the 2012 holiday season. This is an increase of about 2.5% from last year.

  • Hasbro takes social games off line

    PAWTUCKET, R.I. — In a reverse of the trend to make everything digital, Hasbro is taking some of the most popular digital games and turning them into physical board games.

    The toy company has partnered with Zynga to create off line versions of its popular Word With Friends, FarmVille, CityVille and Draw Something brands.The line will hit store shelves this month at most major U.S. retailers and will also be available globally this fall in the United Kingdown, Australia and Canada.

  • Cheeburger Cheeburger opens at New Britain Village Square

    Chalfont, Pa. -- Brixmor Property Group announced a 2,400-sq.-ft. Cheeburger Cheeburger recently opened at New Britain Village Square, located in Chalfont, Pa.

    Brixmor, which is based in New York City, is the owner of the New Britain Village Square shopping center.

  • Macy’s steps up footwear game with Finish Line

    More than 450 Macy’s stores will feature branded Finish Line footwear departments as the department store retailer and athletic footwear chain have entered into an exclusive agreement.

    The deal addresses a major merchandising deficiency for Macy’s as department store retailers are not generally viewed as a destination for athletic footwear. The deal also accelerates growth for Finish Line which currently operates 638 predominantly mall-based U.S. stores compared to Macy’s approximately 840 locations.
