  • International market to get taste of Babies’R’Us’ Scrumptious line by Heidi Klum

    WAYNE, N.J. — Babies”R”Us is getting ready to give its exclusive Truly Scrumptious line designed by Heidi Klum the international treatment.

    Following Truly Scrumptious’ successful U.S. launch in fall, the retailer decided to roll out the line of products for babies and children in more than a dozen countries outside the U.S. beginning early 2013.

    Woonsocket, R.I. — CVS/pharmacy has introduced a variety of new features to its mobile suite, which consists of the CVS mobile app and a mobile-optimized website at m.CVS.com.

    The new features range from health resources that make it easier to schedule immunizations and identify pills, to a sleeker look and feel for the CVS Mobile app that makes mobile shopping a snap.

  • Rite Aid same-store sales down 3% in Q3

    Camp Hill, Pa. — As expected, Hurricane Sandy left its mark on Rite Aid's monthly sales as the chain reported a decline in comps for November.

    The company said the 3% decrease in same-store sales for the five-week period ended Saturday included a 0.5% decrease in front-end comps and a 4.2% decrease in pharmacy comps, while same-store prescription count increased 2.2% compared with the same time last year.

  • Dick's Sporting Goods to pay special dividend ahead of fical cliff

    New York -- Dick’s Sporting goods will pay $2 special dividend before year end in a move to help investors avoid what are presumed to be higher dividend tax rates in 2013 and beyond.

    The dividend payment will be made from cash on hand, according to the company.

  • Meyers marketing solution firm launches digital division

    Meyers has created a new division called Meyers Engage to focus on digital initiatives with CPG and food service companies. The Minneapolis-based firm plans to use cloud-based software platforms and mobile applications to help brands connect directly to customers through fun, informative and rewarding content, according to the company. The division has already begun deploying digital marketing campaigns for internationally known snack food and coffee brands.

  • Macy’s to keep stores open 48 hours straight Dec. 21 through Dec. 23

    New York — Last-minute holiday shoppers will have some help from Macy’s this year, as the retailer plans keep most of its stores open 48 hours straight the weekend before Christmas, from 7 a.m. Dec. 21 through 7 a.m. on Dec. 23.

    The 48-hour shopping marathon coincides with Macy’s final scheduled One-Day Sale of the year, which concludes at 7 a.m., Dec. 23. While the sale ends Sunday morning, 57 stores will remain open 24 hours or offer extended late hours until close on Christmas Eve.
