  • Tommy Bahama makes improvements to e-commerce capabilities

    CHICAGO — With an eye on new growth opportunities, Tommy Bahama has selected the Hybris commerce platform to improve its omnichannel commerce capabilities.

    A leading retailer of island-inspired apparel and home furnishings, Tommy Bahama has seen growth in it online commerce throughout the past few years. Tommy Bahama also offers in-store kiosks, where shoppers can access a commerce channel that enables an "endless aisle" of available products —allowing shoppers to access out-of-stock or online-exclusive items directly in-store.

  • The Shoe Gallery improves operational efficiency with Celerant

    Staten Island, N.Y. -- The Shoe Gallery has stepped up inventory control with the help of Celerant Technology Corp. The chain has been using Celerant’s real-time, retail management system, Command Retail, to manage all areas of its retail operation for the past seven years. 

    It is also using the supplier’s Style Matrix tool, a three-dimensional graphical representation of all the SKUs by size, width, and color, to improve operational efficiency.

  • Wolverine appoints new president for consumer direct

    ROCKFORD, Mich. — Wolverine Worldwide has appointed Jodi K. Watson as president of consumer direct, reporting to chairman, CEO and president Blake W. Krueger.  

    In her new role, Watson will be responsible for direct-to-consumer operations for the company, including stores and e-commerce.

    Watson was most recently the company’s VP of e-commerce, leading Wolverine's global digital strategy. She has served on its retail leadership team since joining the company in 2009.

  • Report: Hollister must redesign store entrys for accessibility

    New York -- A federal judge in Denver gave Hollister Co. until Jan. 1, 2017, to modify its store entrances to make them wheelchair accessible, according to an advocacy group for the disabled, at a rate of 77 stores per year, the Associated Press reported.  

    The entrances of some Hollister locations are designed to resemble a front porch, complete with steps.

    SIDNEY, Neb. — Cabela’s Inc. announced that its Cabela’s Credit Card Master Note Trust successfully completed the sale of $350 million of Asset-Backed Notes, Series 2013-II.

  • Staples incentivizes consumers to recycle

    FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Staples is generating traffic to its brick-and-mortar stores with its ink and toner cartridge recycling program. Since 2005, it has recycled 350 million ink and toner cartridges, averaging more than 60 million cartridges per year for the past three years. 

  • Coca-Cola Bottlers Association marks centennial

    The Coca-Cola Bottlers’ Association is turning 100. To mark the centennial, Bart Gobeil, chief operating officer in Georgia, will present a commendation to the association on behalf of Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, recognizing the impact that CCBA has made in supporting the local communities in which its members operate.
