  • That’s the ticket — Target joining video revolution

    Target’s entry into the world of video streaming with a service called Target Ticket is said to offer instant access to 15,000 titles and serve as an alternative to the Apple’s iTunes, Walmart’s Vudi and Netflix.

    The service will work with Windows, Xbox, Android and Apple devices and was tested with Target employees, according to published reports. A roll out is said to be imminent with content providers including, ABC, AMC, CBS, CW, Fox, FX, HBO, The WB, NBC, Showtime, Starz and USA.

  • NYC’s new Pier 57 complex renamed SuperPier

    New York -- Youngwoo & Associates (YWA) announced that the Pier 57 development at West 15th Street in Hudson River Park, Manhattan will now be officially known as SuperPier. Constructed in 1952, Pier 57 was an engineering marvel, built on three giant buoyant and hollow concrete boxes, or concrete caissons. Described as indestructible, it was dubbed “Super Pier” when it opened.

  • Delhaize names new CEO

    Brussels, Belgium – Delhaize Group has named Franz Muller as CEO, effective Nov. 8. Muller will succeed Pierre-Olivier Beckers, who will remain available to advise the new CEO until year-end and continue to serve on the board of directors in a non-executive capacity thereafter.

    Muller, 52, has more than 15 years of senior leadership experience in retail, most recently as a member of the management board of Metro AG and CEO of Metro Cash & Carry. He will start with Delhaize on Oct. 14, prior to assuming the role of CEO.

  • Target elevating e-commerce capabilities

    Multichannel integration hasn’t exactly been Target’s strong suit to date, but this holiday season could be different if the company is able to successfully roll out an order online, pick up in store service.

  • The Dump opens Lombard, Ill., furniture outlet

    Lombard, Ill. — The Dump is opening a new 134,000-sq.-ft. furniture outlet location in Lombard, Ill., today.

     Official opening festivities began at 8:30 a.m. CT with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that will be followed by musical acts.

  • Shop Your Way unveils Adam Levine menswear collection

    HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Sears Holdings is launching a menswear collection by Grammy Award-winning recording artist Adam Levine, exclusively at Kmart and ShopYourWay.com beginning Oct. 1.  

    Levine's collection includes premium denim washes, outerwear, wovens, knits and accessories. 

  • Modell’s opens new Long Island stores

    New York — Modell’s Sporting Goods will celebrate the grand opening of two new stores in Long Island today. The stores are located in the Huntington Shopping Center and Fivetowns Shopping Center.

    The new stores will boost the company’s store-count to 155.
