  • Verizon partners with Locaid for location-based service

    New York – Verizon Enterprise Solutions has recently introduced a location-based service that will allow retail organizations to offer real-time benefits to their customers, such as proximity-based specials and fraud detection. Verizon Location Data Services, powered by Locaid, is available now to enterprise retail clients in the U.S.

  • Infinite Beauty to Manhattan

    New York — Skincare specialist Infinite Beauty has leased its first New York City location at 1031 Third Avenue and 61st Street, according to Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, and Joseph Aquino, executive VP of Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group, which represented both the landlord and tenant in the transaction.

    The retailer has stores in affluent areas along the east and west coasts, from Boca Raton, Fla., to Annapolis, Md., and White Plains, N.Y., to Roseville, N.Y., and Palo Alto, Calif.

     

  • Delia’s seeks CFO

    Omnichannel retail company Delia’s, which markets apparel, accessories and footwear to teenage girls, is looking for a new CFO. Current financial chief David Dick has resigned and will remain with the company through Aug. 1.

  • CVS launches specialty prescription program

    Woonsocket, R.I. – CVS is launching Specialty Connect, a specialty prescription services program that allows to bring their specialty prescriptions to any CVS/pharmacy location, as a complement to existing specialty pharmacy processes.  

  • Demand for luxury, new stores drive strong Q4 for Michael Kors

    Hong Kong - Michael Kors Holdings attributed impressive growth in net income, total revenues and same-store sales during fourth quarter 2014 to strong global demand for luxury items. Net income for the three months ended March 29 rose 59% to $161 million, from $101.1 million last year.

    Total revenue increased 53.6% to $917.5 million. from $597.2 million. Same-store sales grew 26%. The addition of 101 corporate stores and 150 licensed stores, including concessions, also helped fuel results.

  • Store expansion up, profits down at Chico’s

    Women’s apparel retailer Chico’s FAS increased its store count by 99 units in the first quarter even as traffic declined and profits tumbled.

  • New Claudette restaurant leases Fifth Avenue site

    New York — Restaurateurs Carlos Suarez and Mark Barak, known for their two popular eateries, Bobo and Rosemary’s, have taken space for a new Provencal restaurant to be called Claudette in New York City.

    Located at 24 Fifth Avenue close to Washington Square Park, Union Square and New York University, the 2,409-sq.-ft. restaurant, which includes 2,044 sq. ft. in the basement, features menus from Chef Wade Moises and Chef de Cuisine Koren Grieveson that focus on local produce, seafood and North African aromatics.

    Brown Shoe Company’s first quarter results exceeded expectations according to CEO, president and chair Diane Sullivan, and the company is raising its annual EPS guidance range as a result.
