  • Sage North America releases payment platform

    Irvine, Calif. — Sage North America is releasing the new Sage Exchange Payment Management System to consolidate all of retail small-to-mid-sized business (SMB) payment activity onto one platform. SMBs can use Sage Exchange to monitor and manage the payments from all their sales environments: on the web, over the phone, through mobile devices, or at their storefront, on a 24/7 basis.

  • A global day of giving at American Eagle

    Roughly 1,300 American Eagle Outfitters employees are participating this year in the retailer’s second annual AEO Better World Community Day.

    The operator of more than 1,000 stores throughout the U.S. and several international markets developed the community involvement initiative last year as a means to unite employees for a common cause to make a difference at the local level. The company designated Tuesday, June 10 as Better World Day.

  • Casey’s COO takes on additional role as president

    Ankeny, Iowa — Casey’s General Stores reported that the board of directors elected Terry W. Handley to serve as president of the Company, effective immediately.  He  will continue to serve in his present role of COO.

  • The OurPet's Company taps marketing VP

    The OurPet's Company, a leading proprietary pet supply company, has promoted Gabriella DeSantis to VP of marketing.

    DeSantis joined the company in July 2012 as senior director of marketing and has been responsible for overseeing the execution of the company's new two-brand marketing strategy. The company also credits her with the successful launch of several new products.

  • Men’s Wearhouse tops expectations

    Fremont, Calififornia — The Men’s Weahouse reported a decline in first-quarter profit, hurt mostly by expenses. But the retailer’s results still topped Wall Street expectations.
     
    Men's Wearhouse, which is acquiring smaller rival Jos. A. Bank Clothiers, reported first-quarter net earnings of $16.5, compared with $33 million last year. Results include $26.5 million in costs related to strategic projects, primarily Jos. A. Bank and cost reduction initiatives.

  • Phillips Edison hires leasing director for Cleveland center

    Cincinnati, Ohio — Phillips Edison & Co. has appointed Robyn Capuano Hays senior leasing director for The Shoppes at Parma, a $70 million redevelopment of the former Parmatown Mall, currently underway in Parma, Ohio, not far from Cleveland. The project includes an enclosed shopping mall, power center, strip center, outparcels, restaurants, and office space.

  • Loblaw expands relationship with Precima

    Loblaw Companies Ltd. and LoyaltyOne's Precima merchandising/marketing solutions provider are renewing and expanding their long-term engagement. Precima has been working with Loblaw for a number of years with a focus on developing and executing customer-centric merchandising and marketing strategies.
