  • Twitter proves skeptics wrong

    Twitter posted solid growth in user metrics for its second quarter, including strength in mobile, which allowed the social media platform to exceed sales and profit forecasts.

    Twitter said it had 271 million monthly active users during the quarter ended June 30, an increase of 24% compared to the prior year. Roughly 78% of those users were on mobile devices, a 29% increase from the prior year.

  • Capgemini releases integrated procurement tool for NetSuite

    New York – Capgemini is releasing its new Integrated Procurement and All-Channel Experience solution, inPACE for NetSuite. The new offering helps retailers run more effective multichannel commerce processes by integrating their transaction, fulfillment, merchandise planning and order orchestration functions.

  • Regal Cinemas launches ‘Tweet a Coke’ promotion

    Knoxville, Tenn. -- Regal Cinemas is partnering with Coca Cola to launch a promotion called "Tweet-a-Coke.” The promotion gives customers the chance to share a Coke via Twitter.

    Moviegoers can buy and Tweet a friend a Coca-Cola at participating Regal Cinemas across the country. They can connect a credit card to their Twitter account, then tweet a friend using @TweetACoke, the word "enjoy" and their friend's Twitter handle.

  • NRF unveils small business retail council

    The National Retail Federation has formed the Small Business Retail Council to organize, recruit and engage Main Street merchants and independent community retailers in grassroots advocacy activities.

    The council will represent and be responsive to the needs, concerns and interests of local shops and provide the association’s small business members a forum to discuss the most pressing public policy issues and priorities.

  • Mattress Firm rolls out Genesis Credit financing option

    Houston -- Mattress Firm Holding Corp. has completed its rollout of Genesis Credit second-look financing, which is powered by Genesis Financial Solutions. Genesis Credit allows customers with less-than-perfect credit to purchase goods and services from any Mattress Firm location.

  • Wayfair names e-commerce expert to board

    Boston – Wayfair has named Romero Rodrigues to the company's board of directors. As global CEO for comparison shopping at Naspers, a South African multinational mass media company, and co-founder of the Buscape Company, a digital commerce group, Rodrigues brings extensive entrepreneurial, e-commerce and consumer expertise to the Wayfair board.

  • Wayfair adds e-commerce expert to board

    Online home furnishings company Wayfair has added e-commerce expert Romero Rodrigues to its board of directors.

    Rodrigues, a 36-year-old Brazil native, is currently global CEO at South African company Naspers, which acquired his company Buscape in 2009 for $374 million.

  • Jamba Juice plans 500 new U.S. stores

    Emeryville, Calif. – Jamba Inc., parent company of the Jamba Juice chain, is launching a new franchise recruiting campaign focused on single-store development in existing and new domestic markets. Jamba is looking to add 500 new domestic stores in the next five years and double year-over-year store development via the new recruiting program.
