  • Hale & Hearty Soups to open on Madison Ave.

    New York -- Winick Realty Group said that Hale & Hearty has signed a lease for its latest location at 177 Madison Avenue, between East 33rd and East 34th Streets.
     
    The tenant will occupy 2,500 sq. ft. on the ground floor and 2,500 sq. ft. in the basement.
     
    Hale & Hearty Soups currently has 28 locations throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn and Long Island.

     

  • Lacoste exec Birkhold named Bebe CEO

    BRISBANE, Calif. — Steve Birkhold was named CEO at Bebe on the same day that the company reported a worse than expected second quarter loss and a 10.5% comp decline.

    Birkhold, who previously served as president and CEO at Lacoste, will be tasked with leading a turnaround at the struggling specialty retailer.

  • Crossmark gets private equity infusion

    Warburg Pincus has acquired a majority ownership stake in Crossmark, a leading provider of sales and marketing services to retailers and suppliers.

    The companies said they entered into a definitive merger agreement whereby Warburg Pincus will make a majority investment of an undisclosed amount in Crossmark that allows for the management owners of the company to maintain a significant equity position and continue to actively lead the company after the transaction closes.

  • Winick named retail leasing agent for One New York Plaza

    New York -- Winick Realty Group said it has been retained by Brookfield Office Properties to exclusively market the retail concourse at One New York Plaza, in New York City.

  • Brixmor announces pair of lease executions with Sleepy’s

    New York -- Brixmor Property Group said that Sleepy’s will open a 10,000-sq.-ft. store at Carolina Pavilion in Charlotte, N.C., and a 6,150-sq.-ft. store at Franklin Square in Gastonia, N.C.

    Brixmor, based in New York City, owns both of the shopping centers.

    Tesco and Walmart’s Asda division are intense competitors in the U.K. and that was supposed to be the case in the U.S. when Tesco arrived in 2007 with its Fresh & Easy format.

  • Lamb and Kistler on menu for RLUG luncheon

    More than 500 people are expected to attend the Northwest Arkansas Retail Link User Group’s annual holiday luncheon featuring key Walmart executives as guest speakers.

    "The Future of Retail Link," is the title of a presentation to be given by Chris Lamb, a project manager with Walmart’s massive Information Systems Division. Matt Kistler, SVP of merchandise execution with Walmart U.S. also is scheduled to speak.

  • Whole Foods to open at Towers Plaza

    Melrose, Mass. -- Charter Realty & Development Corp. announced that shortly after acquiring Towers Plaza in Melrose, Mass., it has signed a 20-year lease for 29,980 sq. ft. to Whole Foods Market.

    Whole Foods will move into a space currently occupied by Johnny’s Foodmaster. The space will undergo a major renovation that will coincide with Charter’s renovation of the balance of the center.
