  • JLL expands in Austin and opens San Antonio office

    Austin, TexasJones Lang LaSalle has announced the addition of seven brokerage experts to its national program. Austin McWilliams joined the firm as a senior VP; Travis Sawvell and Jon Switzer joined as VPs, and Katie Carlisle joined as an associate, all based in Austin. Their additions come on the heels of the firm’s newly formed Austin Retail Brokerage practice led by newcomers Todd Wallace and Robert O’Farrell.  

  • From penthouse to poorhouse for this retail exec

    America’s Thrift Stores has hired former Tiffany executive Mike Kane as its new chief operations officer. Kane joins the leadership team at the largest privately owned thrift store company in the Southeast.

    At Tiffany, Kane served as VP of manufacturing and prior to that, as a division president.

    "I am excited about joining such a passionate group of people," said Kane, "and I see tremendous dedication to do whatever it takes to achieve the mission we have started."

  • Organizations changes at P&G

    Procter & Gamble has announced a string of organization changes, including the retirement of 37-year company veteran Dimitri Panayotopoulos, vice chairman and adviser to the chairman and CEO, effective Jan. 2, 2014.

    Panayotopoulos joined P&G in 1977. He served in sales and general management roles spanning Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, eventually overseeing all P&G brands as vice chair – Global Business Units. As previously announced, he was elected to his current role as advisor to the CEO effective July 1, 2013.

  • Peter Chang’s to Virginia Beach center

    Virginia Beach, Va. — Peter Chang’s Chinese Bistro has leased a 6,030-sq.-ft. restaurant space at Landstown Commons in Virginia Beach, Va. Divaris Real Estate represented the landlord, Inland Diversified Real Estate, in the transaction. This will be Peter Chang’s sixth location in the region.

  • Togo’s announces nine franchise agreements in California

    San Jose, Calif. — Togo’s Eateries has announced signed development agreements with new and existing franchisees to open nine new restaurants in markets across California. The company will open two restaurants in downtown Los Angeles, two in midtown and downtown Sacramento, and single units in San Jose, Santa Cruz, Riverbank, El Centro and Petaluma.

  • SRS hires first VP in Tampa, Fla.

    Dallas — SRS Real Estate Partners welcomes T. Michael McNamara as first VP in the Tampa, Fla., office. A seasoned commercial real estate veteran with 23 years of experience, he will focus on tenant representation, landlord representation and land brokerage services across Tampa Bay and Central Florida.

    McNamara comes to SRS from Sperry Van Ness where he was a senior advisor specializing in the sale and leasing of retail, office and industrial properties in the Sarasota, Orlando and Tampa Ba markets.
