From penthouse to poorhouse for this retail exec
America’s Thrift Stores has hired former Tiffany executive Mike Kane as its new chief operations officer. Kane joins the leadership team at the largest privately owned thrift store company in the Southeast.
At Tiffany, Kane served as VP of manufacturing and prior to that, as a division president.
"I am excited about joining such a passionate group of people," said Kane, "and I see tremendous dedication to do whatever it takes to achieve the mission we have started."
Kane's is an engineer and a LEAN/Six Sigma Operations Improvement Expert, which according to the company, makes him a great fit with America's Thrift Stores.
"My goal is to help grow America's Thrift Stores and thereby increase the contributions to the family-centered Christian ministries we help support," he added.
One of Kane's first responsibilities will be leading the efforts to drive operational effectiveness and increase clothing and merchandise donations in all stores.
America's Thrift Stores operates 18 stores in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana.
