  • Top six digital/social media trends expected to drive holiday sales

    Seattle – The retail industry is expected to benefit from mobile commerce, free shipping offers, in-store pickup promotions and e-commerce videos during the 2014 holiday season. According to global analytics and insights firm Blueocean Intelligence, the top six digital and social media trends that will drive sales for retailers in the upcoming holiday season are:

  • Kmart unveils Fab 15 holiday toy list

    Kmart has unveiled its annual Fab 15 holiday toy list, a week after Toys “R” Us announced its Fabulous 15.

    To help drive sales, Kmart has also unveiled a "Trending Toy Ticker" at Kmart.com/Fab15. The ticker continually updates the top-selling toys as the season progresses to help shoppers keep up to date with the latest trends.

  • UsTrendy plans customer experience upgrades in Q4

    Boston – UsTrendy, a fashion e-commerce site with 20,000 designers from more than 100 countries posting their items for sale and receiving funding along with promotion for their clothing lines, is launching several new customer experience features in fourth quarter 2014.

    These include:

    Purchasers can customize clothing to fit by entering their measurements. They can also adjust the style of a garment, according to the designer’s choices.

  • Woodmont Co. secures pair of leases for Altitude Trampoline Park

    San Antonio, Texas -- The Woodmont Company has completed two, five-year leases with Altitude Trampoline Park for new locations in San Antonio and Spring, Texas.

    Altitude Trampoline Park will occupy 27,428 sq. ft. of space at Heubner Oaks Shopping Center in San Antonio, Texas, a lifestyle center anchored by Regal Cinemas. The space is under construction with the grand opening anticipated this fall.

  • Pitney Bowes survey: 49% of Americans shopping online earlier for holiday

    Stamford, Conn. -- Half of Americans (49%) plan to shop online earlier for gifts this holiday season, with the main reason being to ensure they receive their packages on time (63%), according to a survey by Pitney Bowes.

  • Ross Stores opens Phoenix store Oct. 11

    Dublin, Calif. - Ross Dress for Less will open a new store in Arizona on Oct. 11. The store is located in the Maryvale Plaza Shopping Center in Phoenix. This new opening is part of the retailer’s 2014 expansion program, totaling approximately 75 new locations during the year. 

    Together, Ross Dress for Less and DD’s Discounts currently operate more than 1,300 off-price apparel and home fashion stores in 33 states, the District of Columbia and Guam.
     

  • Point6 implements NetSuite business management suite

    Steamboat Springs, Colo. - Point6, a manufacturer, distributor and retailer of performance-oriented socks, has implemented NetSuite's cloud-based business management suite that provides the company with capabilities to run its core business operations including financials, inventory management, order management, fulfillment and warehouse management. This modernization effort has helped Point6 streamline the order to cash business process.
