  • 99 Cents Only opens two California stores Nov. 21

    City of Commerce, Calif. – 99 Cents Only Stores opens two new stores in California on Nov. 21. The stores will be located in the towns of Menifee and Corona.

    The Menifee store will measure 18,000 sq. ft., while the Corona store will measure 19,400 sq. ft. 99 Cents Only Stores currently operates 335 extreme value retail stores consisting of 241 stores in California, 44 in Texas, 33 in Arizona, and 17 in Nevada.

    Cabela's has launched an improved mobile website for customers using handheld devices or smartphones, just in time for the holiday season.

    According to the specialty retailer, the site gives customers a seamless mobile shopping experience and offers the same information and services as the desktop version.

    Chicago – Online retailers are divided about the impact of the proposed Marketplace Fairness Act (MFA) legislation, largely based on company size. According to a new McGladley LLP survey of decision-makers at small and mid-sized online retailers, 38% of small and mid-sized online retailers with revenues between $10 million and $1 billion project that the MFA would have a negative impact on their profitability.

  • Prada renews early at SL Green’s 724 Fifth Avenue

    New York — Prada has renewed the lease for its New York City flagship store at 724 Fifth Avenue, according to SL Green Realty Corp. and Jeff Sutton, a partnership that owns the building.

    The early lease renewal — the existing lease will not expire until 2017 — will keep one of the world’s iconic fashion and accessory houses at the prime Manhattan location through 2028. Prada occupies 15,540 sq. ft. on four levels, plus another 5,200 sq. ft. of office space on the fifth floor of the building.

  • Another first for Starbucks: Store on a train

    New York -- Starbucks Coffee Company and Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) on Thursday unveiled the first-ever Starbucks store on a train. The train’s maiden voyage will take place on the train line running from Geneva Airport to St. Gallen in Switzerland on Nov. 21 at 6:36 a.m.
