  • Rite Aid adds Catholic Health Initiatives CEO to board

    Rite Aid has elected president and CEO of Catholic Health Initiatives Kevin Lofton to its board of directors.

    Lofton has worked with the Englewood, Colo.-based operator of hospitals and long-term care centers since 1998 and was appointed as its president and CEO in 2003.

  • Interactions taps former Acosta exec as VP of operations

    Interactions, a company that organizes event marketing and product demonstrations for retailers and brands, has appointed Jerry Slater as VP of operations.

    Slater will lead Elite Marketing Interactions, the company’s in-house group dedicated exclusively to Meijer, the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer that operates 203 supercenters and grocery stores throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. In his new role, Slater is responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations and will be based in the Grand Rapids office.
     

  • Safeway installing Bettery’s in-store ‘Swap Stations’ for batteries

    Portland, Ore. -- Bettery announced that it has teamed up with Safeway to give consumers a convenient way to adopt reusable household batteries, not only reducing their environmental footprint but also saving them money.

    Bettery Swap Stations – kiosks for purchasing and exchanging rechargeable batteries – are being installed this month at multiple Safeway locations, starting with stores in Portland, Seattle and surrounding communities.

  • Trina Turk, Kendra Scott to Market Street-The Woodlands

    Fort Worth, Texas — Trademark Property Co. has announced that Trina Turk and Kendra Scott Jewelry will open at Market Street-The Woodlands, a mixed-use destination located north of Houston.

    Both retailers plan to open in the spring 2014. Construction of the new 2,000-sq.-ft. Trina Turk boutique will begin in January. Work will get underway on the 1,200-sq.-ft. Kendra Scott store this month.

In addition, the sites have introduced social shopping – allowing customers to organize their most-wanted items in shareable toy and baby boards, while also viewing the most popular and trending products on the sites.
