  • 360pi unveils data visualization ThreatMap

    Understanding threats and taking advantage of opportunities is the name of the game in retail, and pricing intelligence provider 360pi has launched a new suite of tools that does exactly that.

    360pi has launched 360insights, a suite of integrated visualizations and dashboard reports that gives retailers visibility into how they can immediately increase revenues and margins through adjustments to their pricing and product mixes.

  • Delia's looks to recover following losses in Q4

    Delia’s is still in the early stages of its turnaround efforts, but losses in the fourth quarter prompted the multichannel retailer that caters to teenage girls to offer preliminary results.

    The company said that headwinds which continue to pressure the retail industry hampered its progress in the quarter.

  • BJ’s selects PromoWorks to run demo biz

    BJ’s Wholesale Club is outsourcing and expanding its product demonstration program with the help of Crossmark’s PromoWorks division.

    Plans call for PromoWorks to manage, enhance and ultimately expand the company’s demo and events program. BJ’s current demo and events staff, made up of approximately 1,400 employees, will be given priority to apply for the demo program with PromoWorks, which plans to grow the current program by more than 25% or about 500 jobs, the companies said it a joint statement.

  • Revionics appoints new board chairman

    Revionics, a leading provider of end-to-end merchandise optimization solutions, has named the company’s president and CEO Marc Hafner as chairman of the board.

    Hafner has served as president and CEO since 2010 and with this newly added role he will lead the company’s strategic planning and accelerate its global growth.

  • Hy-Vee grows pharmaceutical footprint

    Hy-Vee has entered into an agreement to purchase Amber Pharmacy, a specialty pharmacy solutions provider based in Omaha, Neb.

    Hy-Vee and Amber Pharmacy have been partners in Hy-Vee Pharmacy Solutions since 2010. This acquisition allows Hy-Vee to expand its current specialty pharmacy business, providing customers with increased specialty options, access and affordability.

  • Content and commerce continue to align at Amazon

    Amazon has never been shy about tooting its own horn and the most recent example involves the company’s content engine known as Amazon Studios.

    Since launching in November 2010, aspiring screenplay writers have submitted more than 20,000 movie scripts and 6,000 series projects. Amazon recently debuted a second batch of original series and one week later the company is heralding positive feedback from reviewers and customers.

  • WAG expands preventive health care services in Calif.

    Walgreens is now offering daily testing for cholesterol, blood glucose and body composition at nearly 200 stores in California. Each test also includes a free blood pressure reading and personal consultation with a Walgreens pharmacist.

  • Weis Markets has a new CEO

    Weis Markets has named Jonathan Weis as president and CEO. Weis will retain his role as company vice chairman.

    Weis has been serving as the company's interim CEO. In his new role, Weis will oversee all aspects of the company's retail, supply chain, merchandising, human resources, information technology, finance, real estate and manufacturing operations.
