  • Giant Eagle to take new concepts to Indianapolis

    Giant Eagle is making a push into Indiana with a Market District concept and GetGo, a convenience store, planned just outside of Indianapolis, according to published reports.

    According to reports, it will be the first Giant Eagle store in the state, and additional stores in the metro area might follow.

    “We are thrilled to bring our Market District and GetGo concepts to Carmel and greater Indianapolis,” Giant Eagle CEO Laura Karet said in a statement. “We are also actively evaluating opportunities for additional locations.”

  • Mid-America brokers four leases across Illinios

    Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. — Mid-America Asset Management Inc. has announced four retail leases with retailers planning to open in the spring. Mid-America represented the landlord in each transaction.

    DSW has taken 11,833 sq. ft. in Oakland Place, a 155,730-sq.-ft. center in DeKalb, Ill. Michaels and T.J.Maxx anchor the center. A Super Target shadow anchors. Tartan Realty Group represented DSW.

  • Kroger test-markets fuel points program

    Kroger is test-marketing the giving of 1,000 "fuel points" toward discounted gas for each transferred prescription versus the traditional $25 Kroger gift card, according to a blog published on The Houston Chronicle website Wednesday.

  • VisibleBrands raises financing, names new CEO

    Kirkland, Wash. – VisibleBrands has raised approximately $2.3 million through a Series B financing to support a regional expansion of its patented in-store digital couponing platform. In preparation for the company’s regional expansion, VisibleBrands promoted Tim Belvin to CEO, succeeding founding CEO Tim Morton.

  • Meijer’s holiday campaign enjoys record-breaking success

    Meijer customers donated more than $510,000 during the company’s holiday Simply Give campaign, helping food pantries throughout the Midwest restock their shelves.

    Combined with a donation from Meijer, the holiday campaign raised more than $1.2 million, making it the most successful campaign since Simply Give began in November 2008.
