  • Pine Tree Commercial Realty acquires South Pasadena Shopping Center

    Tampa, Fla. -- Northbrook, Illinois-based Pine Tree Commercial Realty, LLC announced that it has acquired South Pasadena Shopping Center, a grocery-anchored community shopping center located in South Pasadena (Tampa), Florida, for $21.1 million.    The recent acquisition is Pine Tree’s 73rd and brings the company’s current portfolio to 3.5 million sq. ft. in 15 states.

  • GBT Realty adds tenants to Middletown Commons

    Louisville, Ky. -- Brentwood, Tennessee-based GBT Realty Corp. announced an expanded tenant line-up that brings a Louisville, Kentucky, regional shopping center to over 90% leased.     Middletown Commons will see its first tenants opening in November; construction is currently underway.  
  • Survey: Customers embrace mobile, seek improvements

    Teaneck, N.J. –- Consumers have embraced the use of mobile devices for shopping, but are less than fully satisfied with the current mobile retail experience. According to a new survey of more than 5,000 shoppers in the U.S., U.K., Germany, and China from IT services and consulting firm Cognizant, 91% of shoppers have a mobile device, 78% have researched products on a mobile device before purchasing in the last year, and 42% of shoppers reported regularly researching products on a mobile device.  
  • Mid-America arranges sale of Fraser Shopping Center

    Fraser, Mich. -- Mid-America Real Estate Corporation’s Investment Sales team recently brokered the sale of Fraser Shopping Center in Fraser, Mich. The 68,326-sq.-ft. center was purchased by a private investor represented by Sterling Heights, Michigan-based Showcase One Real Estate Group.  
  • Tesco chair to step down as net income plummets below estimates

    Cheshunt, U.K. –- Sir Richard Broadbent, chairman of Tesco PLC, will step down in the wake of a 99% drop in net income for the first half of fiscal 2014. Tesco reported first half profits of $9.6 million, about $333 million less than previous estimates.  
  • Snagajob: Seasonal retail workers average $10.30 per hour

    Richmond, Va. -- Employers in the hospitality industry will pay the highest average wage for holiday employees at $11.80 per hour, followed by retail at $10.30, and food service at $9.40, according to a survey by Snagajob, which provides recruitment and hiring solutions to the hourly industry.
