Regional supermarket chain Haggen’s acquisition of 146 Albertsons and Safeway stores has been a disaster and the reasons why are detailed in a new lawsuit that heaps blame of the parent company of divested stores.

Greensboro, N.C. -- The Fresh Market named a veteran food retailer who once led Food Lion as its new president and CEO. The hiring follows the abrupt termination of the chain's former CEO and comes as the once high-flying chain has seen its sales stagnate.

San Francisco -- Regional supermarket operator H-E-B has joined the ranks of retailers offering home delivery service.  

The chain is the latest retailer to reach an agreement with grocery delivery service provider Instacart. Under the deal, Instagram will offer home delivery to H-E-B customers in the Austin and Houston markets.

Regional supermarket operation H-E-B wants to make its customers lives’ better and believes its new relationship with Instacart accomplishes that objective.

H-E-B is the latest retailer to reach an agreement with grocery delivery service provider Instacart to offer home delivery in the Austin and Houston markets.

Kroger already has a good relationship with shoppers, but the retailer is looking to elevate its brand even further by making a key hire in reputation management.

The Kroger Co. announced it has named Jessica C. Adelman to serve as Kroger's group vice president of corporate affairs, effective Nov. 1. 

After a monthslong search for a new president and chief executive, the Fresh Market Inc. has turned to a retail veteran to provide leadership at a time when the company's growth has been stagnant. 

The Fresh Market announced that its board of directors has named veteran food retail executive Richard Anicetti as the company’s president and CEO, effective immediately. Anicetti has also been elected to the company’s board of directors.

Cincinnati – The Kroger Co. has about 20,000 open positions it would like to fill with veterans and their relatives.

Kroger is holding open interviews for veterans and their families on Tuesday, Sept. 15 for 20,000 permanent positions across all of its supermarket banners.

The retailer named Christopher Baldwin, former CEO of Hess Retail, as president and COO, a position in which Baldwin is poised to succeed Laura Sen, current CEO of BJ’s.

Baldwin will assume his new responsibilities at the chain on Sept. 8, where he will oversee merchandising, logistics, membership, marketing club operations.
