  • Pinkberry frozen yogurt franchisee plans 50 stores in Japan

    Los Angeles and Tokyo — Pinkberry has selected Royal Holdings to roll out franchises across Japan. An experienced franchisee, Royal Holdings operates 722 restaurants across several brands.

    The initial development plan calls for 50 Pinkberry frozen yogurt stores.

     

  • Wells Fargo will fund, issue and service Dillard’s credit cards

    San Francisco -- Wells Fargo & Company and Dillard’s have entered into an agreement for Wells Fargo to fund, issue and service Dillard’s-branded private label and co-brand credit cards. Wells Fargo will also manage the cardholder loyalty program for Dillard’s.

    The program agreement has a 10-year term and is anticipated to become operational in the fourth quarter of 2014, following the scheduled expiration of Dillard’s current program agreement. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

  • Whole Foods Market acquires four New Frontiers Natural Marketplace stores

    Austin, Texas -- Whole Food Market will purchase four stores from New Frontiers Natural Marketplace. The stores, which average 22,000 sq. ft., are located in Flagstaff, Prescott and Sedona, Ariz.; and San Luis Obispo, Calif. The two companies expect the transaction to be finalized in the next few weeks.

    The stores will continue to operate under the New Frontiers Natural Marketplace banner until they are re-signed as Whole Foods Market stores.

  • Grossman and Summit acquire Westport, Conn., retail building

    Quincy, Mass. — The Grossman Cos. and Summit Development LLC have joined forces to acquire a 5,728-sq.-ft. retail building in Westport, Conn., for $2.7 million.

    Located in one of Fairfield County’s most affluent towns, the building is adjacent to the Westport Metro North train station and offers easy access to an exit from Interstate 95.

    Approximately 131,000 vehicles pass the building on I-95 every day, followed by another 14,000 vehicles on Route 33. Average annual household income in Westport is $170,000.

  • Online retailer BaubleBar sets up shop in Nordstrom

    New York -- Online jewelry retailer BaubleBar on Monday opened 35 pop-up shops in select Nordstrom locations. The ‘Nordstrom Loves BaubleBar’ pop-up features new and exclusive items from brand, with the collection priced between $24 and $68.

  • Second Johnny Rockets opens in Kuala Lumpur

    Aliso Viejo, Calif. —  AUM Hospitality has opened the second Johnny Rockets restaurant in Malaysia at Avenue K in Kuala Lumpur, a 360,000-sq.-ft. retail hub. The new Johnny Rockets is the 11th restaurant in the chain to open in Southeast Asia.

    In addition to the two Malaysia, the chain operates six outlets in the Philippines and three in Indonesia.

  • BikeStreet names former Hhgregg COO as chief executive

    Fort Lauderdale, Fla. -- Bicycle retailer BikeStreet announced the appointment of former Hhgregg executive VP & COO Gregg Throgmartin as CEO. With 17 shops opened since the brand’s founding in 2012, BikeShop aims to acquire and/or open nearly 1,000 shops across the nation under Throgmartin’s leadership.
