  • Report: Google will take on Amazon, eBay with ‘buy’ button

    Mountain View, Calif. – Google Inc. is reportedly planning to start providing users with “Buy” buttons in their search results within the next few weeks. According to the Wall Street Journal, Google will initially offer the buttons on mobile search results.

  • Regal Cinemas comes to Celebration Pointe in Florida

    Gainesville, Fla. - Regal Entertainment Group (NYSE:RGC) will open a 10-screen reserved-seating luxury theater at Celebration Pointe, a 225-acre, mixed-use regional development located in Gainesville, Florida. Celebration Pointe partner Ralph Conti made the announcement.

  • Nordstrom Q1 profit misses but sales beat; opening 32 stores in 2015

    Seattle – Nordstrom Inc. missed Wall Street expectations with declining profit in the first quarter of fiscal 2015, although the department store retailer beat expectations for sales, aided by impressive e-commerce results.

    Net earnings were $128 million, down 8% from $140 million the same quarter the prior year. The impact of the Trunk Club acquisition in August 2014 and ongoing entry into Canada reduced earnings.

  • Shoes.com’s Q1 gross revenue up 89% amid repeat traffic

    Vancouver -- Fast-growing Canadian online footwear retailer Shoes.com has reported record first quarter. In its first quarterly financial report since consolidating three online businesses under one platform, the company reported an increase in gross revenue of 89% to $60 million and a 129% increase in revenue from repeat customers.

    Gross profit margins remained robust at 44%.

  • Party City shrinks net loss in Q1

    Elmsford, N.Y. – Party City Holdco Inc. had something to celebrate in the first quarter of fiscal 2015, shrinking net loss to $8.52 million from $19.91 million the same period a year earlier. In addition, total revenues rose 7% to $462.1 million, from $432.99 million.

    Brand same-store sales increased by 5.2% aided by the shift of the Easter selling season to the first quarter, which contributed 1.5% to the increase.

    Chicago – Despite significant changes in society and online commerce, the mall remains the primary shopping destination in America. Consumer shopping habits have changed, but only slightly, according to JLL’s Shopping Preferences Survey, which polled nearly 3,000 consumers nationwide.

  • Cinepolis USA to join Steelpointe Harbor mixed-use center in Connecticut

    Bridgeport, Conn. – Los Angeles-based cinema operator Cinépolis USA will open a 12-screen, 1,200-seat luxury hybrid theater at Steelpointe Harbor, a mixed-use development in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Ferrara Jerum international partner and Steelpointe Harbor leasing consultant Douglas Jerum made the announcement.
