  • T.J. Maxx to open at Ridge Hill

    Yonkers, N.Y. -- Aries Deitch & Endelson said that a lease was recently signed by TJX Cos. for a 32,000-sq.-ft. T.J. Maxx store slated to open this spring at Westchester County’s Ridge Hill, the New York metropolitan area’s largest mixed-use outdoor shopping center. 

    Located in Yonkers, the lifestyle center, which is owned by Forest City Ratner Cos., spans more than 81.4 acres and includes 1.3 million sq. ft.

  • Callison acquires Barteluce Architects

    New York City -- Global architecture and design firm Callison announced Friday the acquisition of New York City-based Barteluce Architects & Associates.

    This acquisition will grow Callison’s New York team to over 75 architects. Since Jan. 1, 2011, Callison has added more than 200 professionals to its global offices and the company said it plans to make more strategic acquisitions and investments in the future.

  • Kohl’s to pilot electric vehicle charging stations

    MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis.--Kohl’s Department Stores will pilot electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at 33 stores nationwide. Each participating Kohl’s store will have one to four parking spaces reserved for EV drivers to charge at no cost while they shop. Charging stations can be activated by EV drivers in various ways including radio frequency identification (RFID) cards available at Kohl’s customer service desk and via phone numbers provided on the charging stations.

  • Tiffany announces management shift

    New York -- Tiffany & Co.  announced that Stephane Lafay has been appointed to the newly-created position of group VP - Asia-Pacific Region and President - Tiffany Japan. 

    Lafay, 46, joined Tiffany in 2009 as president of Tiffany’s Japan organization. A search is underway for a managing director of Japan who will report to Lafay.

    SAN FRANCISCO — JoS. A. Bank's mobile checkout on Black Friday saw an increase of over 3,000%, compared with its previous daily average.

    The m.josbank.com site, powered by 5th Finger's RedShop, has been in operation since early 2011 and offers on-the-go shoppers a detailed product catalog, reviews, educational tools and offers. "JoS. A. Bank considers mobile a critical part of its multichannel strategy, and another way to provide customers with a friendly, quick, and convenient shopping experience,” said Pete Zophy, divisional VP of Ecommerce.

  • Kohl's, Vera Wang marriage leads to junior's collection

    MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — Kohl's announced that it has expanded its partnership with Vera Wang Group to launch a new, exclusive line of junior's clothing that will be available in stores and online beginning August 2012.

    The Princes Vera Wang collection will include premium apparel and jewelry at a great value, the company said. Additional categories may be added over time. 

  • Christopher & Banks names former Wet Seal and Wilsons Leather CEO as president

    Minneapolis -- Christopher & Banks Corp. said Wednesday it has named Joel N. Waller as president for a one-year term, effective immediately. He will report to Larry Barenbaum, CEO.

    Waller, who is charged with revitalizing the business and putting the company back on track to profitability, was most recently a consultant to various retail companies, including AM Retail Group, Inc./Wilsons Leather. He served as CEO of Wet Seal from 2005 to 2008, and as chairman and CEO of Wilsons Leather before that.
