  • Bass Pro Shops raises the walls at ONE DAYTONA

    In its race to open by early 2017, Bass Pro Shops has launched vertical construction on its 67,000-sq.-ft. outpost at ONE DAYTONA, the retail, dining and entertainment extravaganza underway across from the Daytona International Speedway.   Bass Pro Shops’ general contractor EMJ Construction utilized a 200-ton track crane to raise 30 panels that represent the walls of the structure.   
  • CVS Health adjusted earnings for Q2 exceed analyst estimates

    CVS Health on Tuesday reported an increase of 17.6% in net revenues for the three months ended June 30, 2016, to $43.7 billion.

  • Saddle Brook Square reaches 100% occupancy

    With the addition of Jembro Stores and Cricket Wireless, Saddle Brook Square – in Saddle Brook, New Jersey – has reached full occupancy, according to brokerage firm Ripco Real Estate, which has led the leasing efforts.   The 221,892-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Walmart, TJ Maxx, Modell’s, and 24 Hour Fitness. Jembro Stores, a regional discount retailer, will occupy 5,280 sq. ft. adjacent to TJ Maxx. Cricket Wireless occupies 2,100 sq. ft.  
  • Dunkin’ runs on DoorDash

    Americans – in particular, some New Yorkers – can continue to run on Dunkin’, as the donut purveyor forged a partnership to offer delivery to select areas of Brooklyn and Manhattan.   Dunkin' Delivery will be offered through on-demand delivery service DoorDash, which through the DoorDash app or website will allow customers to order with a tap or click from home or work. Delivery time is 45 minutes or less.

    Temperatures for the U.S. will trend the warmest in at least five years.    August begins with an active pattern along the East Coast with showers and thunderstorms. Heat will be building across the Central U.S. with a heat wave likely developing in the first week of August. The heat spreads to the East Coast later in the week. Another heat wave during the second retail week of the month will keep it feeling firmly like summer.   
  • Report: Retail M&A activity strong in Q2

    Deal volume in the retail and consumer sector is up, but deal value is down.   Deal volume in the second quarter in the sector reached its highest level in the past 12 months, with 282 announced deals, up 5% over the first quarter, according PwC’s Q2 2016 retail and consumer M&A report.  
  • Phillips Edison appoints Farrell Donnelley Assistant General Counsel

    Phillips Edison & Company announced the appointment of Beth Farrell Donnelly as VP and assistant general counsel. She will work with senior VP and General Counsel Tanya Brady to provide legal advice on all aspects of the company’s business.  
  • Dollar General in 41-store acquisition

    Dollar General has purchased 41 former Walmart Express locations across 11 states in a move designed to allow the discounter to expand its fresh meat and produce offerings.   Dollar General said it expects to relocate 40 existing Dollar General stores into the purchased sites by October 2016. It will also enter one new market.   Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
