  • Tile Shop appoints Best Buy exec as COO

    Rochester, Minn. - Tile Shop Holdings has appointed Chris Homeister to the newly created position of COO, effective immediately. In this role, Homeister will oversee supply chain, retail operations and merchandising.

    Homeister previously served as the GM and senior VP of Best Buy's Entertainment Business Group, where he led all elements of this multi-billion dollar business across retail and online channels.

  • DDR announces completion of third quarter transactions

    Beachwood, Ohio — DDR Corp. has announced the closing of its previously announce acquisition activity totaling $591 million. The acquisitions include a portfolio of seven prime power centers in a newly-formed joint venture with an affiliate of Blackstone Real Estate Partners VII L.P. for $332 million in August and two market dominant regional power centers in Orlando, Fla. and Atlanta, Ga., for an aggregate $259 million in July.

  • SRS announces September transactions

    Dallas — SRS Real Estate Partners has announced a September transactions and new assignments carried out by SRS offices across the country.

    SRS Atlanta:
    •    Three new tenants have inked deals at Krog Street Market, a 30,000-sq.-ft. mixed–use redevelopment project owned by Paces Properties. Fred’s Meat & Bread has leased a 600-sq.-ft. space; Gu’s Dumplings has taken 600 sq. ft. and The Little Tart Bakeshop plans to open a 200-sq.-ft. market stall.

  • Mid-America brokers sale of Edgewood Towne Center

    Lansing, Mich. — Mid-America Real Estate Corporation’s Investment Sales team has brokered the sale of a portion of the 313,000-sq.-ft. Edgewood Town Center in Lansing, Mich. Office Max and Dollar Tree anchor the center, while Target and Sam’s Club shadow anchor.

    RCG Ventures LLC purchased the 86,000-sq.-ft. portion, whch excludes shadow anchors, for an undisclosed amount from Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust. Mid-America represented Ramco-Gershenson.

  • Fitpulse Studio by Sears integrates Netpulse One platform

    Hoffman Estates, Ill. – Sears Holdings will integrate the Netpulse One digital platform into its FitStudio by Sears online fitness offering.

    FitStudio by Sears is an online community providing resources such as exercise programs, video workouts, and expert advice. NetpulseOne will enable FitStudio to deliver an enhanced customer experience by providing the ability to connect to fitness equipment, mobile apps and personal fitness devices as well allowing FitStudio members to set goals and participate in challenges and events.

  • Shop.org: Retail-related Internet time on mobile devices increases

    According to Shop.org, more than half (55%) of all retail-related Internet time in June 2013 originated on smartphones and tablet devices combined, compared with just 45% originating from desktop devices. 

    Shop.org teamed up with comScore and the Partnering Group to generate the report, released at Shop.org's Annual Summit, which found that smartphone Internet usage in June 2013 totaled 44% of retail Internet minutes, up from 17% in June 2010. Tablet internet usage accounted for 11% of total minutes on retail sites.
