  • H&M to Denver’s Orchard Town Center

    Denver — H&M has signed a lease for 20,000 sq. ft. at The Orchard Town Center, a 914,000-sq.-ft. open air regional retail center in Westminster, Colo., according to Vestar, the property’s owner. H&M plans to open the new store in the fall.

    The addition of H&M comes less than two months after Vestar acquired the property for $123.5 million in an all cash transaction. Vestar plans to redevelop the project, rebranding the center with new amenities while brining in new retailers.

  • Report: Chico’s plans mobile shopping apps

    Fort Myers, Fla. – Chico’s FAS Inc. is reportedly building a mobile shopping app for the iOS and Android platforms. According to the Wall Street Journal, the app will integrate with iBeacon location sensors on shelves.

    This app, currently in pilot testing, would reportedly use iBeacons to notify customers who have opted in when they are near items that fit their purchase history. Associates would then use iPads to update the customer’s history.

  • Four new retailers sign into Brea Mall in Brea, Calif.

    Indianapolis — Four new retailers have leased space at Brea Mall in Brea, California, according to Simon Property Group, the mall’s owner. Starbucks Coffee Company, Kiehl’s Since 1851, Kelley’s Kookies and Shoe Palace plan to open their doors this spring and summer.

    Starbucks will debut this spring as a standalone kiosk with tables and chairs for café-style seating.

  • Banana Republic launches omni-channel spring campaign

    San Francisco -- Banana Republic is releasing an omni-channel spring 2014 marketing campaign called “True Outfitters” in March 2014. Styled by Jessica Diehl and shot by Mikael Jansson, the campaign was developed with Laird+Partners, Banana Republic's advertising agency.

    The campaign will appear in March and April publications, supplemented by outdoor, online and direct mail. Digital portions include a dedicated website and a special YouTube event on March 2.

  • Report: Amazon seeks deals with major retailers

    Seattle – Amazom.com is reportedly seeking to strike deals with about 10 major retailers, including Abercrombie & Fitch, Neiman Marcus, J. Crew, Ralph Lauren, and Lord & Taylor, to sell their goods via listings on its e-commerce site.

  • CBRE: Hong Kong remains most expensive retail market

    Los Angeles — Hong Kong is by far the world’s most expensive city for global retailers. Even so, prime rents in major global markets such as New York, Paris and London continue to break records, according to new research from global property advisor CBRE Group.
