  • Armani to debut first junior flagship in U.S.

    New York -- Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Group said it has orchestrated a long-term lease for the first Armani Junior standalone flagship in the United States at 1225 Madison Avenue, on the northeast corner at 88th Street in Manhattan.      

    Neighboring retailers along the corridor include Brooks Brothers, Ankasa, Jacadi, Rachel Riley, J.Crew, Buckhouse, Jack Rogers, Joie, Koos, Intimacy, Ann Crabtree, Rose Pope Maternity and The Shoe Box.

  • Jimmy Choo CEO names president of Bergdorf Goodman

    Dallas -- Neiman Marcus Group announced that Joshua Schulman has been appointed president of Bergdorf Goodman, effective May 7.

    Schulman, 40, joins Neiman Marcus from Jimmy Choo where he was CEO. In this role, he oversaw the international expansion of the brand and the growth of jimmychoo.com. Prior to Jimmy Choo, Schulman was president, Kenneth Cole New York, and managing director, international strategic alliances, Gap, Inc.

    New York -- Hybris announced that The Gymboree Corp. has selected the hybris platform to enhance its e-commerce efforts and provide a cohesive omnichannel shopping experience across its three brands, Gymboree, Crazy 8, and Janie and Jack.

  • Ross Dress For Less to open at Millcreek Mall

    Erie, Pa. -- Youngstown, Ohio-based Cafaro Co. said that Ross Dress for Less will open a store at the Millcreek Mall Complex near Erie, Pa.

    The new store will open in the Millcreek Pavilion section of the complex this fall. It will occupy more than 25,000 sq. ft. next to Old Navy.

    Millcreek Mall Complex, located in Millcreek Township, comprises more than two million sq. ft. of shopping, lodging, dining and entertainment.
     

  • Express launches new loyalty program; customers can earn points by tweeting

    Columbus, Ohio -- Express announced the launch of Express Next, a new points-based loyalty program open to all Express customers throughout the United States. It replaces the previous loyalty program that was only available to Express Credit Card holders, and is designed to meet the Express shopper's habits both in-store and online, as well as reward brand interaction via social media.

  • Robert Graham to open store in Mall at Short Hills

    New York -- Robert Graham announced that it has signed a lease agreement to open a store in The Mall at Short Hills, Short Hills, N.J. The store will carry the complete range of Robert Graham-branded merchandise, including men's sportswear, premium denim, tailored clothing, furnishings, accessories, outerwear, and women's sportswear.

    The Robert Graham store will open this summer.

  • Charming Shoppes posts wider-than-expected loss; to close 90 to 150 stores

    Bensalem, Pa. -- Charming Shoppes Inc. recorded a wider-than-expected loss for its fourth quarter as higher product costs and discounts at its Lane Bryant division cut into margins. The chain said plans to close between 90 to 105 underperforming stores this year.

    Charming Shoppes, which hired Barclays Capital in December to help it review its options, posted a loss of $13.2 million for the three months ended January 28, 2012, compared with a loss of $30.4 million a year ago.
