  • Brown Shoe profit tops estimates

    St. Louis -- Brown Shoe Co., parent of Famous Footwear and Naturalizer shoe stores, said Tuesday that its fiscal third-quarter profit rose to $18.6 million from $16.3 million, topping analysts estimates.

    Sales in the quarter ended Oct. 30 rose 14.5% to $716.1 million, from $625.6 million.

  • Skechers opens at Miracle Mile Shops

    Las Vegas -- New York City-based Robert K. Futterman & Associates announced that Skechers has opened inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas.

    Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino is a 1.2-mile retail/entertainment complex on the Las Vegas Strip featuring 170 specialty stores, 15 restaurants and three live entertainment venues.

    It is owned by David Edelstein and Aby Rosen, in conjunction with leasing and marketing consultant Robert K. Futterman & Associates LLC. 

  • Anne Fontaine opens at South Coast Plaza

    New York - Anne Fontaine has opened a store at South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa, Calif.  The 1,510 –sq.-ft. shop is based on the company’s New York flagship designed by architect Andree Putman.

    The new store combines natural materials and textures that embody the essence of Fontaine’s love of modernity and nature.

    "The concept behind the shop is simple; to experience a little bit of the French lifestyle," said designer Anne Fontaine

  • Nielsen: Consumers ready to shop on Black Friday

    Schaumburg, Ill. - Nearly one in five Americans will shop on Black Friday, and more than half (61%) plan to spend $100 to $500, according to a new survey by The Nielsen Company.  Among the likely Black Friday winners are department stores, with 76% of consumers planing to shop the channel, and supercenters/mass merchandisers, where 55% will shop.
