  • Verizon Wireless is Energy Star partner

    New York City -- Verizon Wireless has joined the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star program. Seventy-five Verizon Wireless Communications Stores have already earned the Energy Star designation for superior energy performance.

    Under the partnership, Verizon Wireless pledges to measure and track energy performance at hundreds of its stores, switching centers, cell sites and other facilities throughout the United States.

  • Consumers confidence at five-month high as retailers head into holiday season

    New York City -- Confidence among U.S. consumers increased more than forecast in November to the highest level in five months. The Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan final index of consumer sentiment rose to 71.6 during the month, from 67.7 in October. Economists had projected a reading of 69.5.

    The report came as retailers prepared for the Black Friday shopping onslaught, the official start of the holiday shopping season.

  • Parago research forecasts record-breaking rebating this holiday season

    Lewisville, Texas -- Consumers can expect a record-breaking availability of rebates this holiday shopping season, according to Parago, a leading provider of reward programs.

    With 2010 rebate performance to-date at blockbuster levels, (Parago has seen a more than 20% increase over the same time last year) more companies are rebating and more products are being sold with robust rebate offers. This momentum of great deals will carry through the holiday season, with more offers and rebate promotions being marketed than previous seasons.

  • Brown Shoe profit tops estimates

    St. Louis -- Brown Shoe Co., parent of Famous Footwear and Naturalizer shoe stores, said Tuesday that its fiscal third-quarter profit rose to $18.6 million from $16.3 million, topping analysts estimates.

    Sales in the quarter ended Oct. 30 rose 14.5% to $716.1 million, from $625.6 million.

  • Skechers opens at Miracle Mile Shops

    Las Vegas -- New York City-based Robert K. Futterman & Associates announced that Skechers has opened inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas.

    Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino is a 1.2-mile retail/entertainment complex on the Las Vegas Strip featuring 170 specialty stores, 15 restaurants and three live entertainment venues.

    It is owned by David Edelstein and Aby Rosen, in conjunction with leasing and marketing consultant Robert K. Futterman & Associates LLC.
