  • Jones Group sees opportunity for Nine West licensing

    NEW YORK — The Jones Group announced that Marchon Eyewear will be exclusive provider of ophthalmic eyewear frames and prescription-ready sunglasses for distribution under the Nine West brand.  

    Under the agreement, the Nine West ophthalmic eyewear collection will be marketed and sold globally in upscale optical chains and optical specialty retailers and by individual eye care professionals beginning in early January 2012, The Jones Group reported.  

  • New retail leases signed at Shops at Highland Village

    Highland Village, Texas -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased retail space in Highland Village, Texas, to two new merchants at The Shops at Highland Village.

    Delta Dental Insurance Co. has leased 10,678 sq. ft. of office space, and children’s apparel retailer Addison June Baby Boutique has leased 2,419 sq. ft. 

  • Stage Stores names president, COO of South Hill division

    Houston -- Stage Stores announced that Mike Searles has joined the company as president and COO of its South Hill Division, which is headquartered in South Hill, Va.

    Searles will be responsible for all operations of the South Hill Division, including merchandising, planning and allocation, and store operations. He has served as chairman and CEO of Wilsons Leather Stores, and Factory 2-U Stores, in addition to holding senior executive level positions at several other national retail chains.

  • Restoration Hardware files plans for IPO

    Corte Madera, Calif. -- Restoration Hardware Holdings filed plans to return to the public stock market. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said it intends to offer up to $150 million in common shares to repay debt and for general corporate purposes.

  • GameStop plays up loyalty rewards program

    GRAPEVINE, Texas — GameStop announced that customers can get double the PowerUp Rewards points just by reserving and paying in full on select games by Oct. 16, 2011. Participating games include:

    • Assassin's Creed: Revelations

    • Batman: Arkham City

    • Battlefield 3

    • Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

    • Super Mario 3D Land

    • The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

  • Sephora to unveil totally mobile checkout in Manhattan

    New York City -- Sephora is opening a store in Manhattan’s trendy Meatpacking District that will feature a completely mobile checkout system, Women’s Wear Daily reported. The 5,000-sq.-ft. store, which will not have a traditional checkout counter, is due to open on Sept. 16. 

    The company plans to rollout the new system in some 50 locations by yearend, according to the report.

     

  • Destination Maternity opens in South Korea

    Philadelphia -- Destination Maternity Corp. announced the opening of two namesake stores and two shop-in-shops in South Korea.

    The freestanding locations, in the cities of Koyang and DaeJeon, are the chain’s first stores in South Korea and were opened by partner Agabang & Co.
