  • Lord & Taylor to open first new store in a decade

    Cleveland -- Lord & Taylor and Forest City Enterprises on Friday announced that Lord & Taylor will open a new, 80,000-sq.-ft. store to anchor Westchester's Ridge Hill, Forest City's outdoor retail/mixed-use development, currently under construction in Yonkers, N.Y. This will be the first new, full-line Lord & Taylor to open since 2001.

    The new location will showcase the retailer's latest store design and will offer a mix of the best fashion, accessories, beauty and fragrance brands, as well as gifts and home accessories.

  • Loehmann's files reorganization bankruptcy plan, must seek asset sale

    New York City -- Loehmann's Holdings filed a Chapter 11 reorganization plan that includes a stock-rights offering backed by its Dubai-based owner, according to a Friday report by Bloomberg. The plan also includes a requirement that the Loehmann’s seek approval to sell its assets.

  • Sam’s Club launches delivery service

    Bentonville, Ark. -- Sam's Club has launched a new service that offers delivery, installation, assembly or set-up of a number of items such as mattresses, televisions, computers, barbecue grills and more. The chain said it is offering the service for items purchased at more than 600 stores nationwide.

    The service is provided by a third-party vendor that will work on both home and business installation. Delivery prices start at $59 and installation is provided at an additional cost.

  • Dollar Tree to open at Summerfield Crossing Plaza

    Apollo Beach, Fla. -- Tampa, Fla.-based RMC Property Management Group announced that Dollar Tree will open a new 9,500-sq.-ft. store at Summerfield Crossing Plaza, located in Apollo Beach, Fla.

    The Dollar Tree Store will be constructed adjacent to a new 80,000-sq.-ft. Bealls department store.

    Dollar Tree is slated to open April 2011.

  • SRS Real Estate names lease admin exec

    Dallas -- SRS Real Estate Partners announced it has appointed Stan Heller as executive VP of its lease administration service line.

    In his new role, Heller will focus on helping the lease restructure and renewal team in lowering client occupancy costs, as well as pursuing new business for the company. The addition of Heller comes on the heels of a strategic move to grow the company’s lease administrative presence in the industry.

  • JLL brokers sale of Bradley Square Mall

    Cleveland, Tenn. -- Atlanta-based Jones Lang LaSalle said it has completed the sale of Bradley Square Mall in Cleveland, Tenn., to Baton Rouge, La.-based MD Ruston Properties, LLC on behalf of a special servicer.

    The 406,845-sq.-ft. regional mall is anchored by Belk, J.C. Penney, Sears and Kmart.
