    New York -- A study released Monday by Cisco revealed that, as retailers reinvent their in-store shopping experience in the face of the continued rise of e-commerce, digital content from the Internet has emerged as the most powerful influence in buying decisions for the majority of shoppers in all channels.

  • PayPal extends reach to 23 retailers nationwide

    New York -- PayPay announced Monday that a total of 23 national retailers are now signed up to accept PayPal in their stores, making the payment solution accepted in more than 18,000 physical retail locations. PayPay also announced that Jamba Juice is testing an order-ahead feature that allows customers to place an order, select a time for pick-up, and pay in advance via the PayPal App – so when they arrive, they can save time and skip the line, grab their food and be on their way.

  • Sports retailer gets smart about retail analytics

    ATLANTA — National sporting goods retailer Hibbett Sports has selected a business intelligence platform developed by QuantiSense, which will allow it to leverage retail analytics so it can improve local assortments across all physical stores.

    New York -- MID Retail Inc. announced Monday that discount fashion retailer Loehmann’s has selected its Advanced Merchandise Planning and Advanced Allocation software to forecast store-level demand, accurately generate buying plans, and intelligently manage the flow of merchandise to retail stores.

    NEW YORK — Online retailers are focused on retaining existing shoppers by giving them a better online shopping experience.

    As shoppers become increasingly connected, online retailers are developing strategies to increase web conversion and loyalty.

    According to the 2013 Shop.org/Forrester Research Inc. State of Retailing Online survey, 51% of retailers surveyed say their top priority for 2013 is site optimization, including checkout optimization, alternative payments, user experience, testing and product detail page enhancements.

    NEW YORK — The National Retail Federation has elected Saks chairman and CEO Stephen I. Sadove to chairman of the NRF board of directors and chairman of its executive committee. Sadove succeeds NRF’s chairman, Terry J. Lundgren, who is chairman, president and CEO of Macy’s.
     

  • Empower Software Solutions and BJ’s roll out workforce solution

    Orlando, Fla. -- Workforce management solution-provider Empower Software Solutions said Monday that BJ’s Wholesale Club has launched the rollout of EmpowerWFM, the company’s workforce management solution, across BJ’s 198 locations in 15 states. 

    The decision to rollout to all clubs follows a successful pilot of the solution.
