  • Lowe’s delivers in Q4 despite severe winter weather

    Severe winter weather was no match for Lowe’s in the fourth quarter. The company reported sales of $11.7 billion, up 5.6% from the same quarter last year, as comps increased 3.9%.

    The company also posted fourth-quarter net earnings of $306 million, up 6.3%.

  • Aurelio’s Pizza to South Michigan Avenue in Chicago

    Chicago — Aurelio’s Pizza has leased a 5,163-sq.-ft. store at 1212 South Michigan Avenue in Chicago. It will become Aurelio’s flagship location and first corporate-owned restaurant in downtown Chicago.

    RKF’s Chicago office represented the landlord on the long-term lease. Baum Realty represented Aurelio’s.

  • NRF praises JPMorgan Chase for chip and PIN effort

    Washington, D.C. -- The National Retail Federation (NRF) is officially recognizing the financial institution JPMorgan Chase & Co. for its decision to issue Europay, Mastercard and Visa (EMV)-compliant payment cards that require customers to enter a personal identification number (PIN), as well as store their personal data in an encrypted microchip.

  • KickesUSA to CooperTowne Center in Somerdale, N.J.

    Purchase, N.Y. — KicksUSA, a regional retailer offering athletic footwear and family apparel, has opened a 4,600-sq.-ft. store at CooperTowne Center in Somerdale, N.J., according to National Realty & Development Corp., the owner of the center.

    Wal-Mart Supercenter, Cinemark Theatres and LA Fitness anchor CooperTowne Center.

  • Bed, Bath & Beyond makes executive appointments

    New York -- Bed Bath & Beyond has appointed Eugene A. Castagna, previously CFO and treasurer, to the role of COO. Susan E. Lattmann, formerly VP of finance, will fill the CFO and treasurer spot.
     
    Castagna has been with the company since  1994 and has served as CFO and Treasurer since 2006. Previously, he served as assistant treasurer from 2002 to 2006 and as VP of finance from 2000 to 2006.

  • The TJX Companies touts successful fiscal 2014

    The TJX Companies CEO Carol Meyrowitz touted the company’s performance in the fourth quarter and fiscal 2014, calling it a successful year despite a competitive retail environment and generally unfavorable weather in many of its regions during the first and fourth quarters.
