  • Coupons.com names Safeway exec as COO, CFO

    Mountain View, Calif. – Coupons.com Inc. has hired Mir Aamir, former president of loyalty and digital technologies at Safeway Inc., as the company’s COO and CFO. Aamir brings more than 18 years of finance, strategy and operating experience, primarily in the retail CPG industries.

  • Digital initiatives cause for optimism at Vantiv

    A unique perspective into the holiday season was provided by leading payments processor Vantiv when the company reported strong third quarter results but expressed reservations about the volume of activity during the fourth quarter.

    The company said its third quarter revenues increase 14% to $532 million and net income on an adjusted basis increase 17% to $80 million compared to $68.1 million while adjusted earnings per share increased 25% to 40 cents from 32 cents.

  • Transwestern brokers purchase of Houston-Area property

    San Antonio, Texas — Transwestern’s San Antonio office today announced that it has completed the sale of Rosenberg Center in Rosenberg, Texas, a suburb of Houston. Built in 1986, the 113,430-sq.-ft. neighborhood retail center serves a commercial corridor between Rosenberg and Richmond, Texas. A private investor bought the property for an undisclosed amount from Rosenberg Station LLC.

  • Sam's awards BBQ bragging rites and 50K

    Arkansas is home to some fine barbeque establishments, but Sam’s Club home state was shut out last week when the top prizes were handed out in the retailer’s third annual National BBQ Tour.

  • Tractor Supply produces impressive Q3; enters Wyoming

    Brentwood, Tenn. – Tractor Supply Company reported that net income for the third quarter was $64.8 million, up almost 30% from net income of $50 million in the same quarter a year earlier. The company also announced the opening of its first store in Wyoming, as it continues to expand into the Western region of the country

  • Cabela's has strong third quarter

    Despite the challenging economic landscape and a decrease in firearms sales, Cabela’s comparable store sales for the third quarter ended Sept. 28 increased 3.9% — the company’s eighth consecutive quarter of comp store sales increases. Excluding firearms, comparable store sales increased 5.3%.

  • GNC Holdings profit up 17%

    Pittsburgh – GNC Holdings reported strong results for the third quarter of fiscal 2013, reporting a net income increase of 17.3%, from $62.2 million to $73 million.

    Revenue grew about 9%, from $621.6 million to $675.6 million. Same store sales increased approximately 6.7% in domestic company-owned stores (including GNC.com sales) in the third quarter of 2013, while in domestic franchise locations, same-store sales increased 5.9%.

  • Tractor Supply is westward bound

    Tractor Supply Company plans to open a store in Wyoming — its first-ever location in the state as it continues to expand into the Western region of the country.
