  • Teavana president joins Starbucks board

    New York -- Annie Young-Scrivner, executive VP of Starbucks Coffee Company and president of its Teavana business, has joined Macy's board of directors.

  • Net-A-Porter debuts third-party Google Glass sales

    New York – Online luxury fashion and beauty retailer Net-A-Porter is launching sales of Google Glass on June 23, available to shoppers in the U.S. Net-A-Porter will be selling a limited number of optical and sunglass styles, to be sold as exclusive packages.

    Each bundle includes Glass, a frame and shade, a mono earbud, and case for $1,800.

     

  • Conn’s plans $250 million senior notes offering

    The Woodlands, Texas – Subject to market conditions, Conn’s Inc. intends to offer in aggregate principal amount $250 million of senior notes due 2022 for sale to eligible purchasers in a private offering.

    Conn’s intends to use the net proceeds from the notes offering to repay a portion of the current borrowings under its asset-based revolving credit facility.

    Camp Hill, Pa. – Rite Aid is bringing some glitz, as well as health consciousness, to its newly reopened Beverly Hills store. On June 23, Rite Aid re-opened its Beverly Hills store with a major remodel that features its new wellness store design, as well as dining options.

  • Bass Pro Shops to open 145,000-sq.-ft. store in upstate New York

    Victor, N.Y. -- Bass Pro Shops announced plans for a new Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in Victor, New York, which is part of the Rochester metro area. The 145,000-sq.-ft. store will be the primary anchor for Fishers Ridge, a 96-acre mixed-use development. The store has a tentative opening date of 2016.

    This will be the company’s third store in New York, as it currently operates stores in Auburn and Utica. This will be the first large-format store in the Empire State.

  • PREIT completes South Mall sale, agrees to sell two more

    Philadelphia — Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust has completed the previously announced sale of South Mall in Allentown, Pennsylvania, for $23.6 million. Net of closing costs, settlement pro-rations and credits, proceeds from the transaction totaled approximately $23.1 million.

    In addition, PREIT has entered into an Agreement of Sale to dispose of its two remaining non-core malls — Nittany Mall and North Hanover Mall.

  • Sam’s Club opens new Kansas City store June 26

    Bentonville Ark. - Sam’s Club will open a new Kansas City, Missouri store on June 26. Measuring approximately 136,000-sq.-ft., the new store will feature a variety of members-only amenities, including a fresh bakery, a tire and battery center, a café and a fuel station.

    To staff the new Kansas City store, Sam’s Club has hired more than 180 new associates.
